Need a tent.....

Hi guys.....

I need a quick eazy up or pop up tent either 10x15 or 10x20. I noticed on a thread I read a few days ago that Pepboys had 10x10 but that's too small for me. It doesn't need to be an E Z Up brand but I want it to go up the same way. Simple. Can anyone point to a website or know of some great prices??

Thanks.................

PepBoys did in fact have 12x12's as well as 10x10's. I dont know if a 12x is too small for you, but they did have them. I got a 12x12 and its a quickShade brand...very decent quality IMHO.

My understanding is, after calling them the 12x12 is the same as a 10x10 in that the canopy is 10x10 but the legs on the 12x12 are more spread out but with a 10x10 canopy. Kinda wierd................especially since the price is higher.

The following post was in the thread "12x12 Portable Canopy at Pep Boys for $79"

FYI - in todays Sunday paper (Miami Herald) - PEP BOYS has the CANOPY FACTORY 10x20 CANOPY for $99 plus a $20 mail-in rebate. They have the canopy enclosure for $79.99, but if you want it, don't get it there if you have a Northern Tool near you - they have it for $59.99.
If you are still looking for a canopy/tent, it might be worth another call to your Pep Boys store.

I can tell you from experience that all pop-ups are not created equal ...you get what you pay for...there are none better than EZ-UP , but there are a few companies that have copied them and are just as expensive for the quality aluminum ones.... Tents with lots of plastic parts don't last and tend to bend easily, some of the cheap ones are made of steel and can be very heavy:eek
If you plan to use it only once in a while buy a cheap one..if you are in business and need a long lasting one, go for the better quality.

My family's complimentary "Easy Open" 12 x 12 Tent is true evidence to Poorboy's statement. That sucker is hard as heck to open and you definitely need 2 people! Grab the EZ-UP ones or higher priced tents that are very durable. Add in maybe sides or weights if ya need it, presto!

If you have a Sports Authority near you they have a E-Z UP Dome II 10x10 on sale for $89.99 and a 12 x12 $139.99 . I was checking out the Sunday sale papers today and spotted it .

Also I was at BJ's Wholesale club the other day and spotted E-Z UP ( forget the model ) 10x10 $189.00

I was at Sam's Club and they had two rather graciously sized (15 X 15 or so and 2-car garage size, BIG GARAGE) pop-up tents, the smaller of the two was a hair over $100, the Garage size was about $160.

I'll be picking one of these up later this week, thanks.

The Big Lot near me had a bunch of tents...11X11 I think for $19.95! They are just for shade, not for rain, but it would be a cheap investment.

Most 10'X20' canopies are not the "easy up" kind. Requires lots of assembly, negates any money you might make being mobile. You'll spend more time doing canopy set-up/teardown than you will actually working on the car.

What I do, get TWO 10X10 canopies. Need one, there you go. Need more shade, set the other one up next to it. Instant 10X20!

I can setup or tear down my QuickShade in under 45 seconds.

Mike

Where was your quickshade purchased? Any problems on windy days?

Thanks.

Scrub,

Purchased my QuickShades at Sports Authority for about $90 each, I memory serves me. These tents are going on their 3rd summer. Just about daily use, too.

Paid $150 for the same size EZup at Northern Tools. Lasted only one summer. Bummer.

Wind is a factor. Get the weights. Use the stakes if conditions are right. Anchor tie it. Get creative! Many ways to skin this cat.

Regards,

Mike
