Hello guru's I need something like meguiars #7 but with better durability. I love the look but it seems to not last long at all.

#7 is a glaze and is not meant to last, as it isn't a lsp. You can use a wax on top of it. From Meg's it could be #26, or #21 which is a sealant.

for a true glaze replacement try danase wet glaze (dwg). i first used meg's #7 on a clear coat repainted hood and HATED it. dried way to fast and the smell was ridiculous. the dwg is awesome. goes on easy, wipes off easier. as you can see on dwg posts upon doing a search, the gloss is fantastic and is pretty slick. you can layer it or put over or under a sealant or carnauba wax. pretty economical too as a 16oz bottle lasts a long time.

in fact, i can't remember ever seeing a negative posting on it.

If you are happy with the #7 look, just try topping it with #26 or #16 or another pure wax. That will effect the look of the #7 some, but will increase the longevity many fold.

Heh heh, the *IMO* the best thing about #7 is that smell :D To me, it's a feature!

If you like the #7 top it with #26. I have done this in the past and it looks really nice. I only stopped because it mutes metal flake alitte more than I wanted. Also I really wanted to try new stuff.

I currently like DWG, as it does not kill the flake as much.
