I have tan leather and I need a better leather cleaner than Lexol. It seems when I use lexol it doesnt clean anything I have a pen mark and the drivers seat has a few darker dirty areas on the side bolsters about half and inch long on the drivers seat I cant get it out. Do you guys know of a strong leather cleaner conditioner package that I can use regularly.

I have had some success with softscrub regular, (without bleach)

Isn't that a bit harsh for leather?

I am very impressed by the Zaino leather cleaner -- easy to use and does a good job; some folks worry that their conditioner hastens drying, but I haven't seen signs of that yet. Also have been happy with Leatherique, and I know lots of folks like the Meguiar's cleaner. I'm sure others will chip in here about those and other products. BTW, this does get discussed pretty often, you might try a search on it.

For cleaning, I use Lexol, as it's more of a saddle soap type in reality.

For conditioning, I use Einszett Lederpflege as it does a great job without that nasty gloss and kerosene smell of other leather conditioners. Very nice product and I have an Ecru interior (cream color) which is hard as hell to maintain.

I use Lederpflege as well and really like it. It goes on and comes off easily, has a nice smell, and leaves a natural finish.

I use the Einszett Plastik-Reiniger interior cleaner. It is a gentle cleaner and smells like ivory soap.

I use Megs Medallion leather cleaner - some folks forget most modern leathers are coated, so using a saddle-soap type product is a bit of a waste of time.

A dedicated leather conditioner on coated leather is pretty pointless too .. the product never gets to touch the actual leather :(

I guess it really depends of the leather type, but the Medallion stuff gets virtually anything off and leaves a soft satin sheen.

A quick squirt of #40 gives it a nice matt finish if thats more your taste.

Scottwax has mentioned the use of Woolite in the past - try a search for this.

I'm still using Lexol cleaner and like it I suppose because it's concentrated and using a wet MF for the wiping down afterwards does a good job of cleaning all by itself I've found (this works on the dash too).

I'm not sure if either of these would get out your pen marks or really old ground-in dirt though, because they're meant for more routine, regular cleanings.... Tried scrubbing/soaking with the Lexol?

I have tried scrubbing with lexol but I might try letting it sit for a few seconds and then work it into the leather. The problem I am also have on my passenger seat is around the piping that surrounds the lower cushion there is a line about quarter of an inch a grayish black line that follows the piping I dont know if its dirt or the piping was rubbing against the leather but it drives me crazy every time I see it and cant get it out, becuase the leather is a very light tan. Also there are a few areas where the threads are a little dirty.

I have used before Hand Cleaners that have Lanolin in them that are also a citrus base cleaner. I rub it on with my hands, rub into dirty area with a finger, let it sit a minute or two and wipe off. NOTICE-Do not use the hand cleaners with the grit in them. This method works for me. Good Luck
