OK, for my step-father's birthday he wants something in the realm of detailing and less than $20. Along the lines of a wax or something like that (he LOVES P21S after we put some of mine on his Volvo S80).
As much as he liked using my MF towels, he specifically requested something other than towels. He says he has too many terry towels, but once those are "used up", he will buy some MFs.
It's very versatile. Unlike most QD, it contains no silicones or anything like that so it's good for Zaino/Klasse users. It leaves a great shine. It is great for use with Clay Bars. I just love it.
My step-father traded in his '96 Aurora when he bought his S80. He swore by that Aurora...until he got the Volvo. He was always a GM owner (Cadillac prior to the Olds), but now he doesn't think he'll go back.
The Aurora was a very nice ride. What an engine! It took the twin turbo in the S80 T5 to impress my step-father after owning the Aurora.
Hmm, if he loves P21S on his car, and your gift has to be about $20, why not get him S100 Carnauba Paste Wax? It's the same as P21S at half the price! Go to a local bike shop or order it from CMA. Either way it's only a cool $15. Even I managed to find this stuff locally in Canada for $25 Cdn. :up
I haven't used it yet (delays, delays ) but it makes a great gift wax IMHO because it's so easy to use and trim-friendly.
EDIT: I think you may be able to put together a killer "gift pack" for just over $20 buying both QD and S100.
I really dislike the Meguiars FI, it seems too watery and doesnt evaporate quickly, requires a lot of rubbing. I really like Eagle one QD. Cheaper and better imo.
No offence, but why would you want it to evaporate quickly? Since you have to rub it in more, you get a better shine. ALSO, that's what makes FI so great for use w/a clay bar...most QD's are gone in seconds...but #34 stays around a little longer allowing you to work that area longer...but that's just my $0.02
why dont you get him some tire dressing...i always hear everyone talkng about paint...wax this...qd that......what about our wheels and tires? a crappy looking tire just ***** on a good detail job.
