Near perfection

A while back I had the chance to see for the first time a cyclo DA polisher in action. Man! My car was perfect in no time. Shortly after that day, with very little convincing, I purchased the machine for myself.

At this point, a month after my purchase, I am amazed at the near perfect finishes I can get with the cyclo and a little patience. Of course a garage filled with flourescent lighting helps too!



Anyways, to get to the point, check out this 1994 Chevy Cav I recently completed.

Yes Taxlady. People only seem to like the PC. So much in fact, I was positive it was the best and only one for me to have in my lineup. I only wish to hear positive feedback about other products. Anything. Especially the better ones!



I hope to get a review up next week after I return from a concourse seminar I am attending this upcoming Sunday on Long Island.
 
I don't think it has anything to do with people not liking the cyclo DA polisher. The PC is more reasonably priced, and a great machine...nearly one third to one half of what it costs to purchase the cyclo DA.



I believe you can get just as good results with a PC.

Not to mention a wider variety of pads from many sources. And the PC can do duty as an orbital sander.



At any rate its nice to see someone getting great results from the Cyclo. Seems to work very well.
 
The picture of the driver side fender was taken directly after I finished using a polish. In fact, there are no glazes, waxes or sealers. That's all paint.



In my opinion, the use of a cyclo allows for less time and effort to complete a perfect finish. Plus, it will last much longer than a PC, which is why I purchased it in the first place.

Polishes do contain oils. Unless you washed the finish with Dawn or equivalent after applying the polish there are still some oils on it.

How do you know it will last much longer than a PC?
 
Ryan, I also have the Cyclo. It's great but i've always wanted a PC. Sometimes the I think the cyclo is too heavy and akward to use, plus i'm always hitting the on button, sometimes while the pad has wax on it. What products did you use for that Cav?



Bretfaz, I thought the Cyclo could also double up as a sander?
 
KCPreki11, The products I used are from a friend. I know they can't be purchased from a store only through mail order. They are on the aggressive side. From what I have gathered through using the products, the polish works very well but takes time to break down. The glazes have a slight polish in them as well. The sealer takes some skill to apply and I need to shoot the pad with some QD to manage it. I believe that the cyclos power helps with the process of applying these particular products.



Bretfraz: Take a close look at the finish. I was hoping you can appreciate the fact there is not a single stray swirl on that sun drenched panel.
