...I get huge 12" Acme Seal Wool sponges super cheap using my brother's contractor account at the local paint store. I found Acme to have the best quality....
Thanks for the recommendation. I'll be doing a search for this specific branded product.

I seem to recall your e-b@y purchase (recent?) of some Mediterranean sponges. Does the above statement indicate that you were less than satisfied with the product?

I've found this to be true. While do price comparisons with the sheepskin mitts, you should consider how long a single sponge will last vs the mitt.

Yes, good memory Mr. Clean! I did not like the one from Greece. It was hollow in the middle and not held together like the ones from Florida. It seemed like it was couple sponges pieced together with no substance in the center whereas the Florida sponges are one "solid" mass.

Acme sponges are sold in ACE Hardware up to 8" in size. If you e-mail ACME sponge company they will give you a seller in your area since they don't sell to the public. Mine happens to be a little independent paint store in my town.

A good place for a large sponge is: Buy the Acme Sponge & Chamois Company SW#1-1011C 10-11in. Sea Sponge at Hardware World - The world's #1 home hardware site

ACME sells 12" ones too but I have yet to see them for sale. I will have them special ordered for me from the paint store.

I find the Acme sponges to be super clean when purchased unlike my initial experience from AG that I once posted about 11 months ago. If you continue to read that thread, I came around with my feelings once I used it after getting over the fear of sand. But the ACME's (ones I've been using since the summer) have been great.
