Natty's Application

Chadwick's Auto Detailing
Hello! Keep in mind my car scratches very, very easily and ,yes, I'm using high quality MF towels. I hate telling people this but it's a jet black BMW.

My question is what is the harm or what will be lacking if I use Natty's as a WOWO product? I use it as a WOWO product on my own black car. This is because it hardens up so bad that I can't buff it off without scratching my paint if I let it set for more than one minute. Yes. I am using very thin coats. Yes I've tried applying to the whole car and then buffing it off. It was so terrible to remove that I had to just wash my whole car again and start over.

I've been using the WOWO method a bunch and the car looks great and beads like mad!!!! The reason that I'm bringing this up is because I've recently read posts where Steve says the product is not WOWO.

I love the look of Natty's. Even better than Souveran and P21S. But I can't continue to use it if I'm not getting the benefit from the wax and it continues to micromar my finish.

Please help!?!?!? and thanks in advance!

Sounds like you have answered your own question. Use it as a WOWO. Maybe you aren't getting the full benefit of Natty's, but then again, maybe it's not that detrimental either. :dunno

:yeah ...if it works for you do it, this is a very subjective business and what works for one person may not work for another...there's no set way to use a product, but from the results we had testing it worked better letting it completely dry...if you like it as a WOWO product then by all means continue.
Also keep us(me) informed to durability with this method so i can note it and share the info with others:)

membim-

I hope you saw my post, it was identical to yours!
Glad to hear I'm not the only one...I will continue to experiment and find what works best for me.

Like I said earlier, I have Natty's x2 on my car right now using wowo and it is the best I've ever seen the car look :eek :drool

Interesting thread here. While I did not have the same problem that you have, I used to have that exact same issue with Meg's #26.

I wonder. Are you applying it in the sun or shade?

membim,

Wow, I really can't figure out what the issue is. I've never had a problem with Natty's removal? It sounds like you are doing everything correctly. Perhaps you have a bad jar? :dunno

I use a DFTowel, and Natty's comes off like warm butter?

I wish I could help more?????????????

In another thread I posted about my using Natty's for the 1st time today 09/29/04. I did half the car in Natty's the other half with Paste Glaz. I did the entire car before I wiped off. I had absolutely no problems removing either wax. It was around 60 degrees and cloudy.

Membim - Are you using a dampened applicator? I like using a regular round yellow foam applicator. I soak it with tap water, then squeeze it out by hand. With the pad primed in this manner, it only takes 2-3 quick swipes across the surface of the wax to load up enough product for a door sized panel. I'll apply to about 3 panels before going back and starting to wipe the first of the 3 panels.

Steve, I've had great durability with Natty's. One coat on my wife's daily driven silver TT is still beading like mad after 3 months.

Wifehatescar, I did read your post and it was a good one. That's what got me fired up to start this one. I'm like you, I love the look Natty's is giving me.

Jaguar, I am applying in my garage.

Boss, I use DF Towels as well. Did your Natty's buff off like warm butter after applying to the whole car?

Rabbi, I read your thread about the Paste Glaz vs. Natty's. They are both great waxes aren't they!!!!

Marj, I have not tried applying with a damp applicator. I'll try that.

Thank you all for your help on this matter. I love Natty's and hope that I can continue to use it. You guys are right though, If it works for me then keep doing it. Thanks again,

Membim :)

Membim :)

Yep, I apply it to my entire F150 SuperCrew, and then come back and wipe it off........... takes a while to apply a coat to that beast! :D

:yeah

Agreed. I just put another coat on my Supercrew yesterday. It sure does take awhile to apply it to that beast.

Could it be how he preps the car? I have never had a problem removing Nattys, but I always either, clay, polish, glaze, etc. first. (usually a few of these) If he is not preping well perhaps thats a factor??? Just my 2 cents.

I prep with a PC and poorboy's polishes. I think it's the dry applicator that's hurting me. I think it's easier to get a much thinner coat if you apply it with a damp applicator. Thanks again folks,

Membim

I have been using a dry applicator as well, I will try it damp next time and report back. Not sure how much difference it will make though :dunno
