I hate ordering things off the internet, just a statement. Thus I need to find somewhere locally that sells backing plates and pads for a porter cable 7336. I have never used it before I just got it for xmas and need to fix my moms paint(severe oxidation and swirlies, not enough elbow grease) I live in Tennessee so if anyone knows of some stores I can hit up let me know. Oh and Autozone, Advance Auto, Oriellys and Napa do not carry anything like that here, they only carry bonnets. Thanks in adavance.

You'll be pretty hard-pressed to find a local retailer that sells backing plates and pads for the PC. If you really need a place locally, you're probably better off looking in your local yellow pages for professional detail shops or auto detail boutique shops that sell them. Other than that, you'll probably just have to order them over the web. Good luck.

If your town is large enough to have a car dealership and/or a body shop or two it should be easy to find a local dealer for backing plates and pads.

If there are shops doing bodywork and paint in town you should have a dealer for automotive paint and supplies nearby. If you don’t see them in the phonebook just stop by the body shop and ask where they get there compounds and polishes.

The backing plate interface on the PC is the same one used on the pneumatic DA sanders that body shops use. So the same backing plates used for hook and loop sanding sheets will work for polishing pads on the PC (except for 3M Hook-it, they put the hook on the paper and loop on the plate).

They might not keep 6.5 or 6 pads or 5 plates in stock but they can order them from Meguiar’s, Lake Country or Edge or whoever.

PC.
