Hey all, new to the site but so far I've found it to be a font of information! Thought I'd finally post something, here's the situation:
Finally getting to work on the beater Integra this weekend, it is a 90 Monterey Blue, which is actually more of a gunmetal/dark grey/dark silver combo with a VERY VERY LIGHT blue tint. At this point, I have cleaned, clayed, and polished it. I am planning to use NXT, maybe even two or three layers added throughout the rest of the week, with a final topper of Meg's #26.
My question is, should I use a glaze in between the polishing and the sealing/protecting stage of the detailing regime? I have Meg's #7 "Show Car Glaze" ... Should I layer it between the #9 "Swirl Free Polish" and the NXT/#26 combo?
I have tried searching, and haven't read anything definitive yet. From what I understand, the #7, or any other glaze for that matter, might create problems for the NXT and other types of sealants that are not wax, in that the oils in the #7 will interfere with the bonding process of the NXT... So should I skip the glaze process entirely, and go straight from polishing to sealing with NXT?
Here's a quick-and-dirty picture of the car in question, please don't mind the primered hood and various bodywork irregularities, those will be worked on in time (it IS my beater car, let's just say I picked up the car for less than the price of the wheels! LOL!):
