ok I am pretty new at compounding with the machine, I have only done 2 cars...but is this a common occurence?

When tried to pull the yellow pad off of the backing plate, it would not budge. I look closely and the hooks were melted and combined with the yellow foam pad. It is only in the centres.

Hmm, I think most of us dump the hook and loops for the custom velcro system. You might want to try those, they work great for me. Were you using a Rotary?

If it is a rotory, what speed are you running it at. It sounds like to high speed=to much heat=melting the backing to the pad.

custom velcro system? explain.

could i just use the velcro backing that came with the machine its the same size as the one i was using.

I am using a PC. ill get pics as soon as I am home.

My Yellow Lc Pad And Backing Plate Melted!!

You need to keep it away from flame graphics LOL

I've never heard of this, especially with a PC as they don't generate much heat

Today the Velcro companies are the leaders in hook and loop fasteners. Recent technical advances have included the development of a unique, patented moulded hook fastener called ULTRA-MATE® brand HTH (High Technology Hook), which can be manufactured from a number of resins and engineered to achieve specific performance characteristics.

I melted mine together also.

What caused mine to do so, i got product down inside the hole of the 7" VC pad i was using, then i switched over to a 6" white pad.

Melted it bad.
