We removed the original tray exposing the chassis rails and then made mounts and a frame that intergrated the floor, I have used a wooden floor but to save weight you could go with alloy.

The doors are pressed one piece with a brace welded down each side.

Oh and the latest addition apart from lowering the front end 40mm over the Christmas Break was to attach a air line connectors just under each the frame on each side, so i can use the airline with the doors down and not squash any hoses or scratch any paint.

Very nice setup! I like the transformation it went under too. The external hose connection is a great idea, but you might want to buy a plastic cap to keep it debris free when not in use.

Nice project!! Glad that you shared. It is amazing what can be made into a workable detailing concept.

Very Nice Chris......
My name is Chris too....I guess we have an eye for building stuff...
I like the air line under the truck...looks like my water line under my trailer...

Very nice job on the fabrication of the ultility body...nice concept....I was looking at the welds and they are very clean and linear You did a great job..

The finished product is superb with the paint and lettering....

It was a very thought out design and shows it

Great looking truck and I love the company name.

I see you get our top gear over there ? yeah those toyota's can take some punishing.

Hey thanks for all the kind words.

Yes the company name certainly get some coments as does the logo, it should though I paid a graphic artist enough to do it right, and also as for the construction being individual.....I must say mine isnt the only one like it, over hear, there are a few very similar, and I paid for the construction I didnt actually build it myself, I got it built and organized it but didnt personally do it. So the welds arnt mine..

The graphics are basically a bottom 1/2 wrap (printed vinyl) but the actual colour is 2K topped zaino

I did the refinishing as a mate painted it but delivered it with more scratches then i had seen in a long time from the wetsanding and denibbing process. All in all I spent around 10 hours buffing it

Yep I heard about the Top Gear episode and believe it or not this truck is a 93 model with 425,000klms on it so its gotten its fair share of punishment.....lucky since its nearing the later part of its life it got a new lease on life and gets treated with some love.

Once again thanks for the comments

LOL...well yes and no. Almost everything goes up on YouTube, but if your "good", then you know where to look for the full resolution rips (which I then stream to my TV over my home network).

For those who want to see the truck clips, here are links to the YouTube copies:

Part 1: YouTube - Toyota pickup truck
Part 2: YouTube - Toyota pickup truck 2

EDIT: Almost forgot...Jeremy also used a Hilux in the amphibious car challenge, which he named the "Toyboata"...lol. YouTube has pulled down the clip however due to copyright laws (just checked). The above 2 videos should still work though for anyone interested...
