My wife's new Range Rover

I spent the day detailing my the nicest xmas present I've ever bought my wife--a new Range Rover HSE. A couple of things came up today that I know the experts here can handle...

My process:

Wash with ONR

Clay Magic

Hit a few spots with the PC (Optimum Compound/Optimum Polish)

AJ Trigger

303 on trim

The truck only has 100 miles on it, so it was in pretty good shape. However, the hood had loads of scratchy contaminants that the clay took care of. Oh yeah, my first question..

1. There are a few water spots visible under the halogens. I tried to get them out with the PC using Optimum Compound and a LC orange pad. Wouldn't budge! I'm a relative novice with the PC, but it seemed like I worked the compound adequately. I considered using a yellow pad, but the warning on the package about not using it on new paint gave me pause. Am I just not being aggressive enough? OC should take water spots out, right?

One more quick question...

2. The Rover has several different kinds of plastic trim. 303 seemed to work well on the grayish plastic, but not the black plastic of the B and C pillar. Gave it a strange, greasy look. Can anyone recommend a good product for this plastic? I know several folks here have done Range Rovers.

It was nearly dark when I finished, but here are a couple of horrible photos anyway :chuckle:

Looks great, nice gift for the wifey :) For most exterior plastics I've had good luck with chemical guys vrt dressing, maybe give that a try.

Congrats on the new ride. I bet your wife was a happy camper! Was it a suprise or did she know she was getting it? I will tell ya, that years ago I worked for Lexus and I got to deliver a car for Xmas (that was a suprise) with the big bow on it, and I didnt think the lady was going to let go of me, and all I did was deliver it. Cool feeling.

Mannn!!! lucky ladY! I love the Z4! Anyway, GREAT DETAIL!

Ive heard GREAT things about black wow.

If/When i get married to the girl ive been dating for the past 2 years im going to get her a pink 911. When i was deciding on colors (i still am) she said pink, i laughed and she want a pink car so i promised her a pink 911 for a wedding present.

PLEASE write this statement down here in a notebook somewhere and put it away for 3 or 4 years, so you happen to come upon it someday down the road and laugh your *** off. I have a feeling you'll actually be buying a 911 for yourself, and your biggest problem will be figuring out which chick you should take for a ride in it, not which one to marry. :spot

Heck with that old thing. Show us some pics of that Jeep!

That Jeep (wife's work vehicle) is a POS! Sorry to the Jeep lovers out there, but we've hated that thing since she got it.

And btw, i think I've figured out the polish problem--just was not working it long enough.

HAHA... funny you say that. Me and my best friend were talking about that yesterday. With every girl ive been (not too many) with ive always tried to skimp on presents. One year i broke up with her 2 days b4 christmas and got back together the day after (it just worked out that way lol), but with this one i kind of always want to give her something better. For instance this year im getting her a 200 dollar tiffany's bracelet and then 100$ gift certificate to Victoria's secret... :xyxthumbs

Probably not too good for some of yall but on a highschooler's budget i think its pretty good.
