My wife's car keyed

Carl, your attitude is an inspiration. Only paint (& money).

I vote for severe punishment too for any delinquents. Heaven help any that I catch in the act, I will not be responsible for my actions.

Good to hear you're on your way to getting the Lexus repaired Carl. When my car was backed into in January the guy who did it was going to leave but the restaurant where I was had a couple of staff members outside who stopped him. I'm still out my deductible as he wouldn't give me his insurance info. I think the Singapore method of punishment they gave the kid who spray painted the cars works for me. Flog the little b**stards with a cane, they might think twice before doing it again.

A friend of mine (and one of my detailing clients) recently came across a couple of "delinquents" getting ready to key his car while at a shopping mall. Huge mistake on their part... as he is a cop, who just happened to be working a shoplifting sting operation in plainclothes. Mistake #2 on their part was getting caught in view of a mall security camera, whicxh had video of them keying three other vehicles in the parking lot.

Can you say...BUSTED?

I just don't even get why this is a thrill for some kids? When I was that age keying a car didn't occur to me as a "fun thing to do".

Took the Lexus to the autoboy/paint shop. As I suspected they need to paint nearly the entire side. Their paint shop is very impressive so I am confident it will turn out OK. It will take them a week to complete the work.

Dayam, that is SO messed up. :down :down

What goes through the mind of the person who keys a car? Is it: "I want this car but I can't afford it, so if I can't have it I'm going to make you pay!"?

Yesterday I was in the Sams Club parking lot waiting for my wife while she shopped. A kid (about 9) came up to my car with a shopping cart. I stared intently at him with my best "Don't come near my car" gaze. He hit the brakes. :rofl His mother then took over, and pushed the cart between my car and the one beside me. She put her hand on the side of the cart to make SURE it didn't scratch my paint! :lol

Now if only we could have our cars send some message to potential keyers to "Leave me the @#*% alone!"

Heh,

Charles
