wow, good job! cool car too, those rims have a nice finish! i don't have any advice for you, never worked on yellow before. sorry!

Mate, with that result I'd say you don't need any advice!

Try Souveran IMHO - works on red & black so why not yellow?

Yeh i dont have any problems with the finish you have. But i would maybe try :

#80

#7/9

EX

Nattys blue (if you can get it)

Just inkeeping with a wet look. As it looks as if its difficult to get some depth with yellow, has some charecteristics of white. But still a very good job. Thats my fav combo.

yeh deffo like the wet look, but difficult on yellow, i am happy with the finish, but always on the look for new products

Hi,

great job.

A couple of questions ;

1) Why did u use #83 and #80 ? was the paint in poor conition to start ?

2) How long the job take ?

3) How many layers of items did u apply ?

Cheers

hi, the car had very slight spider webs/swirling, it was a new car but the dealers tend to clean them with grit covered sponges, so i tried #80 first, which didnt move to much (i think the paint is quite hard), so did 1 application with #83, then 2 applications with #80, then put 2 layers on #16 on, not sure how long it took as i did it over 3 sessions

Ok, looks like I may need to do the same at some point as my car when new had spiderwebs, which I assumed all mass production cars just had. ( Mini Cooper S )

Any chance of you showing me how effective a Porter Cable with #83 followed by #80 could be on a single panel of my wifes car (front bonnet). I want to see if going down that path would give me enough benefit to justify the costs. The paint work on car is not great.

Cheers

Your car looks pretty darn good.

I've worked on one yellow car, twice.

My feeling so far is you have to treat it like red, but expect as much reward as white.

It's definitely better with a wet look, and I like it as deep as possible.

I do like the look of WG topped with #26.

Next time around, I might try RMG and Souveran.
