My thoughts on RMG/AIO

So I applied some RMG to my silver xB today. It produced a very similar result to that of AIO. However, AIO seemed to be a much better cleaner. RMG had a tough time getting some waterspots up. That and the fact AIO is more versatile, I think I'm going to stick with that on lighter colored cars.



If a car is really bad, I'll probably use AIO, then RMG (depending on the color) followed by a sealant and possibly wax.
 
Yeah it's a glaze. But I was talking with Neothin and White95max and they told me it was also a cleaner and would help with oxidation etc. Took out some very MINOR waterspots, but that's about it.
 
Yeah I've removed some spots on a friend's car from sitting under a tree during a rainstorm, and then leaving it to bake in the sun for several days. :mad:



I agree that AIO has more cleaning power than RMG.
 
I think AIO has stronger cleaners than VM, but I have not used VM for oxidation removal purposes as of yet.

VM has abrasives too though, so it could be better for some cleaning tasks.
 
It hides MINOR swirls if any in my opinion, AIO is the cleaner amongst glazes ;) If you need Oxidation removal AIO is your best bet. If you need a glaze then Vm or RMG is the way to go, I think you are comparing apples to oranges here.
 
I wont disagree with ya. I just heard that RMG had some cleaning properties and would make your paint 'pop' a little more than AIO. Unfortunately, I didn't get those results, but then again, I was working on a silver car. I'm going to try again in a week hopefully on a friends red car.
 
Best bet would be polish (if needed), AIO, RMG then wax, that way you are benefitting from the cleaners in AIO and the glaze effect of the rmg :) That will help the paint "pop" the way you want....sorry if my previous post sounded harsh lol it was after i just got home from the club on new years...

it seemed to work for me, but I'm an amateur detailer. The car looks amazing in person.



I got the idea from reading Neothin's post.
 
I've just started to use FMJ and was wondering if it'd be reasonable to glaze the surface maybe every 2 weeks with RMG or VM to hide some swirls. I know FMJ is acrylic, but do you think the application of VM would strip the FMJ off?
 
I thought it was kinda understood that AIO was more of a cleaning product and RMG was more of a glaze. VM is stronger then RMG and AIO was stronger then VM so by the associative rule of addition. AIO is stronger then RMG
 
I think the only reason I didn't get a deep wet look is because of the color. I've seen plenty of examples where it does a good job. I'll definately be keeping it around, and will use it after AIO in the future.

Same here. Any correction it is capable of is more a function of pad choice and buffer speed.
