My ScratchX success!

I drive a 1998 BMW 323is in Avus Blue Metallic. I bought it about 2 months ago with 101k miles. The previous owner kept it in immaculate condition (lucky me!!!).

To make a long story short, there was an "incident" with a satellite radio antenna that left a large blemish on the trunk lid. I figured this would be a great opportunity to test out ScratchX by hand.

The products used in these photos were:

QEW to wash (we are under an total outside water usage ban in drought-stricken north GA)

Meg's QD to remove reside between steps

ScratchX (obviously)

and various WalMart terry cotton applicator pads and some MF towels for buffing

Here are the blemishes in their unwashed, untreated state:

Here is the area after washing with QEW:

Those reflections on the left edge are clouds outside the garage

Result after about 5 applications of Scatch X to the whole area by hand with a terry cotton pad (again you can see the clouds reflecting from outside the garage):

I am very pleased with the results. It's not 100% fixed, but another couple of SratchX applications should have the blemishes totally eliminated!

How did you apply the ScratchX? Next time maybe try this.

3M sanding block and a folded microfiber towel= a great KAIO appilcator or any polish that needs to be worked. It also works great for hand polishing with a diminishing abrasive like Meguiars ScratchX or Zaino Z-PC Fusion. (Moisten towel with a spay of water) The Block cost at the most $5. By being able to apply equal heavy or light pressure this tool does the job and is easy to use.

Fold a microfiber towel into 1/3's

Make sure the block you buy has nails to secure towel
