My prices... Are they reasonable?

I know they could probably be a little higher, but how much higher is reasonable? My target market is the middle-upper class market (Newer cars, Volvo's, Avalons, Grand Marquis, 3xx BMW's, Explorers, etc.), though I would like to work my way up to the higher class vehicles. Thanks for any criticism

The basic wash/vac would be intended more for customers who have already recieved "complete details" from me, more as routine maintanance (every few weeks maybe), and the prices would be based on the vehicles size, as well as the overall condition of the vehicle to start with. How much should the prices be adjusted? These arent like, the only jobs I'll do, these are just for my website to give a general idea of what my services include and what they cost. Thanks

Exterior Package 1



Starting at $65



* Exterior hand washed and dried

* Clay bar exterior paint (Process which safely removes all contaminants embedded in your paint)

* Synthetic wax applied by hand

* Wheels and tires cleaned and dressed

* Glass cleaned inside and out







Exterior Package 2



Starting at $100



* Exterior hand washed and dried

* Clay bar exterior paint (Process which safely removes all contaminants embedded in your paint)

* 1 or 2 step machine polishing to remove swirl marks, oxidation, and light scratches in paint

* Paint sealant or carnauba wax applied by Porter Cable 7424 Random Orbital Polisher

* Wheels and tires cleaned and dressed

* Glass cleaned inside and out







Interior Package 1

* Interior carpet and seats vacuumed

* Dash and plastic trim thoroughly cleaned

* Cupholders, ashtrays, map pockets, storage trays cleaned

* Carpets shampooed

I would say you're good with the washing price, but might list more like wheel wells, door jams, windows and anything else you'll be washing......



Your claybar and machine polishing is waaaaaay low. Figure at least 1/2 hour to wash, 1/2 hour to do interior, 1 - 1 1/2 hours to properly claybar and another 1/2 hour to wax is like 2 1/2 - 3 hour job, not to mention proper machine polishing normally takes me about an hour as well. 4-5 hour job (depending on condition) for $100??



Maybe once you start to really improve and speed up your processes and do the same high quality work you could start charging more.:woot2:

All areas are different. What I can get 20 miles down the road, I cannot get in this town. Just depends on your market and who you are trying to attract. Set low prices, get all the dirty, never been detailed vehicles before.
 
Those prices are max where I live now (read financially depressed area) but in Austin I charged almost twice that with no quibbles from customers. Like Chris said it all depends on the area.

Yep, here in my town, I am lucky to get my asking prices. I get them mainly from Business Owners. When I drive about 20-25 minutes away, I can get my prices all day long.

As stated above, it depends on your area, your target market etc. When I shoot high market in my home town, I can only get about 200-225 tops for a detail. In Rochester, I can get 300 per detail easy.
