and i think this is what im supposed to do

1. Clean/Detail Wheels

2. Dawn Wash/Dry (leaf blower?)

3. Meguiars Ultimate Compound

4. Meguiars Swirl X

^(i really need these 2)^

5. Meguiars Cleaner Wax

6. NuFinish Polish

7. Actual wash with Armor All Car-Wash Soap with Carnuba Wax (Dry with MF Towels)

and i THINK your supposed to wash it again after that whole process...

THIS IS WHY I NEED YOUR HELP AND WHY I LOVE AUTOPIA lol

I have a G8 too, my name is paramount on the board and grrrr8. Anyway, I think you need to take your time and read all you can on here.

-Dawn Wash

-Clay

-IPA Wipedown

-Do a test section to see if the polishes will work (our paint is so soft they will be fine)

-Once you get a feel on what needs to be done in the test section go to town on the rest of car. Make sure you do a IPA wipe down after the Ultimate Compound so that you know the scratches are gone. If you dont the oil will fill the remaining scratches and you will think they are gone but in reality they are just hidden.

- Dawn Wash and wheels.

-Wax

After the Ultimate Compound and the Swirl-X, I'd just apply a coat of wax. No way would I want to put NuFinish on after bothering with all that polishing either. I probably wouldn't use the Meg's cleaner-wax either.

Working by hand, I don't know if I'd bother with any extra washes (not after it's all done, that's for sure) and in this case I probably wouldn't bother IPA-wiping either. If some marring is concealed (as opposed to truly/mechanically corrected) I'd be OK with that and just lock in the fillers as best you can with a good coat of wax.

For the wax, see if you can find something from Collinite locally. Or even just NXT.

Doing a whole car by hand is a huge undertaking and I'd distill it down to the bare essentials so you're less likely to start getting sloppy or skipping steps after the first few hours of work.

I love G8's but the woman won't let me get one cuz she says I'll look like a hillbilly or redneck in it (hello...they're from Australia!!!) Please post some pics for me!!!
