my plan of attack

I bought my new truck towards the end of september, so I never have really had any good detailing weather for it. I've hit it with a few coats of NXT to keep up the protection when the opportunity presents itself, but nothing real special. Anyway, the truck is a very deep metallic dark blue, and now that spring is around the corner I'm gearing up to make it look its best. I'm not new to detailing, but went on about a 2 year detailing hyatus so to speak when other aspects of life took over. I used to be a Z user, but with all the products available now I've made some other choices. I've got quite a few random products, and also own a PC.

So far my plan is:

-TC car shampoo

-TC clay

-TC SMR

-TC TC-3 polish

-FK 1000p

I have no experience with the 1000p, but ordered it based off of what I have read here so far. As far as the TC products I have a few friends who use the TC-3 with great results. I find that the TC gives the paint a very warm feeling and really makes the metallic pop. What is your opinion of this current arsenal? I'm considering adding another polish or glaze into the mix to help with swirl removal and most importantly to add depth. I like the look of the TC products, but have a hunch that they may make my paint appear slightly more plasticy than I'm wanting. What is your opinion of Red Moose and how well would it fit into my mix? I have heard that it works best adding depth to red and black paints, but my blue is so dark that it is often mistaken for black. Will this product do what I'm looking for it to do? Is it compatable with the other products I will be using? Will using it under the TC and FK affect their adhesion or durability? Thanks.

I dont know much about the tropicare products, but just by going off of names alone, RMG would go after TC-3 and before the FK 1000p. I also have a dark blue metallic car and use RMG on it all the time. It gives the paint an awesome wet look. It would be a great product to use. Sorry, I can't add anything else :(

well there you go. another example of poor naming by companies!

seeing as TC-3 is a sealant, would there be any bonding issues with using it over the oily RMG?

Thats precisly what i was wondering. I'm also unsure as to the order of use. The TC SMR is actually more of a glaze IMO despite its name. I would hate to put it on and then just remove it using the RMG. Any insight on either question is much appreciated.

I've used the TC-3 over Mothers Power Polish without any problems. I'd try a panel first just to be sure.

anyone have a concrete answer on this? I'd hate to order it and have it be useless to me. I'm also considering just waiting for the new Sonus Swirlbuster

You might want to have a look at ChemicalGuys EZ~Creme Glaze , it's supposed to be sorta like Swirlbuster without the abrasives. It fills and also offers a fair amount of protection, and the salesperson claims that it can be topped with a sealant. Danase will be carrying it in about a week.

Though I have no experience with TC, most products are cross compatible. One recommendation - be careful with 1000P . . . apply thin, even strokes. Avoid trim as well.

Good luck :)

The tropicare products are very nice. Even if you do order someting you can always use it with other combo's.

why is that? I have no experience with it, is it tough to remove? difficult to apply evenly? dusting?

Anymore input on the TC and FK over the RMP?
