They would consider anything on the sides of the car as being on the side. The windshield is only the front solid piece of glass. We used to have an SVX and I had the tint law explained to me on it. The fact that it is seperated doesn't make any difference. The side tint laws still apply for the whole side.

#2. I have a black Tacoma x-cab, with a cap on it, and the 2 front windows are 20% on the front 2 windows, and 5% all the way back from there. Cops don't bother me because truck's don't get harassed like cars normally, and if I get a ticket my friend own's a tint shop, so I will have my windows redone 5 times a month if I have to without hardly spending a dime
I say if you want something for your car/truck, do it. There's WAY too many unnecesarry laws against cars. So the state can kiss my a*s
