My New Z-8 Process...

I have started to use two microfiber towels for Z-8 application. I start with a PakShak work towel and set the sprayer on as fine a mist as possible and wipe thinly over the panels. I then finish up quickly with a PakShak UltraPlush towel to make sure the panel is dry.

I started doing this since I was worried about the UltraPlush absorbing too much Z-8 on application and the work towel is a smoother nap...I will be receiving some UltraSmooth towels from Pak in a few days and that may be the best QD towel for Z-8 yet.

What do you use?

Here are some pics where I tried to capture the slickness post-Z8:

I know how you feel Silver Lexus. Since I already made comments on another forum I did not feel the need.

FWIW, the pictures do convey a slick look to them. From reading other posts of the product may be I am using to much?

Comment? How can you take a picture of "slickness"? It's certainly shiny tho, nice job. As far as the two towel method, sure, at the end of a Z8 application a single towel can be pretty wet and bleeding thru to the "dry" side causing some streaks. Using a second towel would be a logical conclusion for most of us.

It's probably impossible-I just wanted to show how wet looking the finish is.

I also wanted people to think about the possibility a plush mf might soak up too much QD on some products...

Oh, sorry, I didn't get the nuance of the nap part because I don't have any Pak towels and am unfamiliar with their "nappiness" from their names. That's a good recommendation...use a low nap for application if the car is clean, so as not to waste so much in the towel...thanks!

I use a standard nap MF. Nothing too deep or too shallow. I find it works quicker and incorporates the best of both worlds.

Personally, I like my initial MF to become slightly moistened with the Z8. I can normally complete 3/4 of the C5 with one MF. I then use this moistened MF to detail the glass surfaces and polish out with a 2nd MF. I then finish the vehicle with the 2nd MF for both application and buffing. Absolutely no waste. I normally use medium plush MF for this activity because of the additional protection against paint damage even on a perfectly clean surface and applied indoors. :waxing:

Great pixs and your paint looks excellent. :2thumbs:

Same here. Z8 is by far my favorite Zaino product. No muss, no fuss, just spray, wipe and admire the wetness and slickness. :)

I like medium nap too. Meguiar's Supreme Shines have become my favorite MF towel. They're big, avaiable locally, have nice edges, and aren't too plush or too fine. I find that a super deep plush or a super fine plush basically "pushes" the product around on the surface whereas the medium nap does a nice job of absorbing it. Deep plush sure is nice to the touch, but I have had better luck with the medium.

Pakshak Ultra Fines for polish removal.

Autopia CBT for LSP removal.

Meg's Supreme Shine for everything else.

Oh yeah, and Z8 is nice, too :D I absolutely love it over Zaino, but I'm having GREAT luck with Sonus Acrylic Glanz over AJ as a booster. Z8 worked well over AJ as well, but I like to keep things as similar as possible across the board.

I use a medium nap also. Its amazing how much product you dont use. I think my bottle of Z8 will last several years!!

Not mine. :nervous2:

I do have a core group of customers whose cars I use it on and I am almost out. I wish it was cheaper but the cost per use really isn't bad.

I agree about the Meguiar's Supreme Shine towels, great for Z8, OCW and QDs.
