Take a good look guys and gals because she won't look like this for long. I have a huge stack of boxes in the garage full of parts that are about to be put on just as soon as I can get to it. :cooleek:

Nice ride!!! hope i can afford my R1 this year......im jealous :P

My brother bought a Raven R1 at the same time I bought mine, and I had the honors of "breaking it in" for him. :D The R1 is an awesome bike, and IMO, nothing can touch it in the twisties. I've heard of a place that is selling them for $9,500 out the door. When you're ready, let me know, and I will look them up for you. :xyxthumbs

Here's some teaser pics to get you ready faster. ;)

awsome man, i appreciate it.......thats a good deal for that bike, R1's here are running 12-14k. Ill definately keep you in mind when im ready :)

Very cool. The Hayabusa gonna be a classic. It's timeless. I know this goes without saying, but especially on a 'Busa, you gotta have the utmost respect for the machine. I've had the pleasure of ridding a 'Busa pretty extensively, and they are downright amazing on the highway. Acceleration from 80-130+ is just out of this world. They are deceptively fast, as it is a pretty large bike, you're going much faster than it seems.

What's this I hear about mods?

BlackSunshine,

You are entirely correct. Respect is the key, and this goes for pretty much anything of this nature. The day you stop respecting a machine like this, or any other, is the day you are going to screw up.

You are also correct in saying that the busa is amazing on the highway. I'm still in the break in stage, so I haven't pulled it all the way to redline yet, but have gotten her up to about 175 so far, which didn't take long at all to get to. It's unreal how stable the bike becomes after about 120. When you're going that fast, you try not to look down at the gauges, but the tach needle certainly moves fast!

Yes, I've got a few goodies to install. I plan on starting the installation this weekend, but that all depends on what my work schedule looks like. Here's what I have in the garage waiting to go on:

- TiForce "Sumo" full titanium exhaust

- Brock's P.A.I.R. Valve Removal/Block off plates

- Power Commander w/ custom map

- Airbox modification to increase airflow

- McINTOSH 2-6" over swingarm

- PMR Triple Tree (Black anodized w. pockets)

- Adjustable Drag Links

(Both of the previous items needed to lower the bike)

- Speedo Healer

- Mototeck Undertail (Phantom Gray w. all clear lenses)

- Pazzo Racing Levers (regular length, black/black)

- Muzzys Aluminum fan to increase airflow through the radiator

- Temp. Sensor Relocator to turn the fan on sooner and longer

and finally

- 5k McCulloch HID Headlight kit

That's about it. :grinno:

Not anytime soon, but *eventually*, I plan on building a 1480cc big bore to kick some turbo butts with! This is one of those "may never happen" kind of mods though. ;)

Wow, I almost completely forgot about what I used to detail it before I took these pics, lol.

The tank had some scuffs on it from the 100 mile ride I went on without a tank protector, so I polished the entire tank using Sonus polishes, and then protected the entire bike with Optimum. I actually use Optimum as a quick detailer after every ride. :2thumbs:

Jason, those mods sound very awesome. Sounds like you're gonna make a badass bike that much sweeter.

OCW is great on a bike. I detail mine after EVERY ride with a QD and then OCW. There's actually not much paint on my bike, so I can add a layer of carnauba in literally two or three minutes. Detailing a bike is so rewarding.

 I think that about sums it up. That 'Busa is like my dream bike, but only part about living in Michigan is I would only get to ride it for like 6 months out of the year.

Love the 'Busa, looks great :xyxthumbs I have started working on the wife for a second bike. I was looking at trailers to haul the bike with the other day and she made the mistake of mentioning that I should get one that would hold at least 2 bikes :D I am looking at an '06 GSX R 750. Weighs only 4 more pounds than the GSX R 600 but, with 25 more hp. Nice and flickable as a 600 for the twisties yet more power for the straights. I have had liter bikes but, for me I find a 750 to be the perfect compromise between the small size and precise handling of a 600 and the power of a larger bike.
