My new (to me) 99 Integra GSR

LastDetail

Whose yer DADDY!??!?!?!?!
Hey everyone. Well last week I finally was able to buy one of my favorite cars of all time. An Acura Integra GSR. I bought this car to be my project/hobby for the next couple of years, never in my life have I had a black car so here is my first one. Since it is the typical soft honda paint I was able to do almost all the correction with my PC. The Makita was sitting off by itself crying in the corner.

Process was:

Megs GC wash

ClayMagic Blue

Megs GC wash

PB SSR 2.5 with megs Burgandy pad PC @ 6

OP with megs yellow pad PC @ 5-6

EX-P by hand

Topped with Natty's Blue

Headlights:

1500 Unigrit

OC with Megs burgandy pad @ 1500 rpm

OP with Megs Polishing pad @ 900 rpm

Wheels:

K-AIO

Mothers Endurance dressing

While I was cleaning the interior I came across a whole bunch of gas station receipts from the former owner (a nice 30ish woman). I thought it was nice that she had always used 91 octane however I was not so pleased to see that with EVERY fill up she had opted for the $5 swirl-o-matic discounted wash. More swirl pictures and the afters coming right up!

And now for the Afters!

As you can see from that last picture I am thinking that some serious orange peel correction is going to be required in the near future.

Other than that I am very pleased with the outcome, as with any car of this age there are some rock chips and others random deep scratches and whatnot. I am thinking that I can do most of the correction with touch up color sanding and polishing. In the next year or so I will changing to the JDM front end complete with fenders and will probably do a full repaint then.

Questions comments welcome as always, thanks for looking.

LOL is that your detailing tshirt? same one in your IS thread :-)

Hahahaha, you're right! I promise I have more than one t-shirt in my wardrobe. The Dead Kennedys give me detailing strength!

Looks great. :up

I would think twice about wetsanding out the OP. Honda clear is thin and tends to peel. Every car has OP and yours isn't bad.

Beautiful job!

I wish I could get a GS-R. I just don't want to be faced with the insurance that comes with them.

I have some MAJOR orange peel I gotta deal with in the next few weeks on my 95 Civic Ex.

Great job again!

Thanks for the heads up I actually didn't know that, SIGH I guess I just have to wait till it gets painted to have flat paint. But I agree having some OP is a whole lot better than having some peeling clear.

StiffDog: I have always wanted one, the insurance really isn't that bad. I have a clean record (no points) and I am 27 and on this car I am paying $1150 a year for full coverage.

Oh it will not only be lowered but in the next couple of months there will be a significant number of changes. Gonna ditch the rear spoiler, shave the rear wiper, ITR lip, omni coilovers, koni blues, portflow head, full valvetrain, skunk2 stage 2 cams, full exhaust, and an ITR header. And somewhere in there I gotta find time for tint, dynamat and stereo. Not sure what kind of wheels to get yet though, all I do know is that I hate the GSR blades.

It's gonna be a busy couple of months.

Thanks everyone for the compliments.

Sell me the blades for DIRT CHEAP!!!! :)

My Civic needs some new shoes.

Wow only $1150. A GS-R might be in Andys future. :p

is it me or are a lot of intergras and civics popping up suddenly on the Click And Brags Lol:think:

EDIT: I have a repainted paint job so I know I have enough clear to wet sand. I already did some areas that had some issues.

Very nice detail, I always wanted an Integra but I ended up owning the RXT Type S. Good vehicles either way.

By the way I like the head lights :cooleek:

Yea that is pretty much how it is going to look, but try to imagine it without the wing or the sidemarkers on the fenders.

In the end I am thinking that I might build a B20/Vtec motor for NA set up. If I can put 240hp to the wheels on a pump gas motor I will be super stoked.

Thanks everyone, it took a long time to find this car but patience ended up paying off on this one. As I start to mod it I will post plenty of pictures.
