My New Porsche GT3RS 2010

Really nice work on that GT3RS!:wow:

Sure looks better without all the graphics which are decals anyway.

Trust me, it's a PITA to fully detail these cars with the paint so damn soft, but if done correctly, they do look great.

Ah, I'm still going to do the PTS/factory delivery when the dealer gets an allocation. Maybe I can show how to properly detail/prep the finish for delivery if they will allow it. I doubt it, but it can't hurt to ask.

One thing also is when factory delivery is scheduled, I want all those involved with building the car to sign the underside of the hood. I'll shoot clear later to protect it, but think it will add a little special meaning.

not a fan of the mcdonalds wheel/brake colors.

Not excatly "McDonalds" colors, but the brake calipers you see in yellow are what we call PCCB or ceramic brakes. First used on the CGT and now avalible for all 911's. I had them on my C2S. Great brakes!

I agree that the decals and other highlight colors are a bit loud to say the least.

Another reason I want to do a PTS (paint to sample) and go with modest looking wheels and carbon fiber mirrors etc.

Also looking at the Akrapovic exhaust system. Less 64lbs where we need to remove it and a great sound.

Deanski, heres a couple of pics for you. It was pretty trashed, but I revived her. I fell in love with this car.

Christ Ryan, that's a rolling black mirror!:shocked

Soft paint, but easy to correct as long as you use the correct pads/polish.

I'm going to do a PTS after all. So it looks like I'm back at the waiting game.

Sure wish they finally would put the PDK transmission in the GT3RS cars, so far no, it's still six speed rowing through the gears. PDK would be really nice.

I could install a sequential shirt kit though.:nixweiss

Deanski,

I love the paint on Porsches, and love the body lines the most. If I had to pick a car that I could work on all the time it would be Porsches without a doubt. Menzerna works like a dream on these paints. That GT3RS I did was hammered, but the top quality paint allowed me to correct it 100%.

A client just dropped off a brand new GT3RS for Rick to do, grey with red decals/wheels at the shop. It's a work of art!!!

What color are you thinking of? I love the fact that they have PTS on these cars.

We have had a few PDK's at the shop and they all say how fast they shift, but I still love the good old fashioned shifting/clutch. You feel very connected with the car.
