my new microfiber towels

I recently ordered some microfiber towels from a guy selling them on eBay under the id ultramicrofiber and I found the towels to be outstanding:up . I don't know if the seller gets them from the same distributor as neatitems, but I swear the towels are the same.

I was actually sent towels from 2 different distributors, but the ones I got most of had a tag that said "Micro-touch" and have to be the same as the neatitems towels. They were 15x15, 70/30 blend, similar impossible to rip off tag and the same feel. The other towels I got had a "Ultrafine Microfiber" tag and were still really good towels that did not lint or anything and were still 70/30 blend soft towels, but still a bit different. The best part was that he offered me 10 towels for $20 shipped, which is an awesome price, but I'm not sure if that is a price he would offer to everyone. You may want to check first, but if you can get them that cheap, then why not try them out and see for yourself.

You can contact Tom at jtintern@hotmail.com. He was quick to answer questions, very friendly and great with shipping the towels out fast. You may want to first see which type of towels and what colors he has available since he does get them from different distributors. I got blues and purples. So I just thought I would share another place to get MF towels with you all. Enjoy.

UPDATE:

After a few qds, sg apps and washes, both types of towels are still great to work with. the ultrafine microfiber towels seem to be much better for drying because they soak up water much better, but still both are excellent for using on my car. very glad i found this buy.

I posted Toms name the other day! He is fast and his product is awesome! He also told me that should be no reason MF towels prices should be so high!Tom also has waffle weave(I bought 5) and he is sending me the 19x36 MF for only 6 dollars.YOU WONT BE DISSAPPOINTED

I called Tom on Thursday (or maybe it was Friday) to order some towels after reading this.. they were waiting at my door at noon today! 25 towels for $57 with shipping... and exactly as described above... I highly recommend checking this out :up

I use 80/20-------70/30 and both work just fine on my car.Just be sure that its the plush mf towel and you are using the right side!

These look quite similar to the Viper Microfiber Detailing Cloths based on visible plushness. These are good general detailing towels, but the best for paint (IMHO) are the Viper Magic Towel .

Not a bad price at all, but 80/20's are better.

i believe the Viper Magic Towel is a 70/30 blend. all my mf towels are 70/30 from Neatitems and jtintern@hotmail.com and they all work great for detailing on my car without leaving any marking. but the key for any mf for detailing is that they are quality towels.

ALAN81-I'm a bit confused. I've been using the "non-plush" side to remove polishes, waxes, etc., and plush side for the same and for final buffing. Works fine, and doesn't introduce any scratches as far as I can tell (I've got a black pick-up). Your post suggests there is only one "right side", which I assume is the more plush side. Can you elaborate? Thanks.

gb-thanks you and others for the info. Have you used the towels, and how do they compare with the neatitems.com one (I have mostly those, plus a few Vipers and Magic Towels).

Tanks

I USE THE LONG SIDE FOR TAKING OFF THE WAX!!!(PLUSH SIDE) BUT WHATEVER YOU WANT TO DO IS FINE DIFFERENT PEOPLE DIFFERENT METHODS

Alan81: Thanks for the response. Since I've only been using MF's for a short time, I thought I had missed something (wouldn't be the first time).

PS Hope you didn't mean to yell (caps on). I really thought I might have missed something about using MF towels. Thanks!

ernie, i have used the towels and the ones with the "microtouch" labels seem to be exactly the same as the neatitems towels. i also got some "ultrafine microfiber" labelled towels in my order and they are good towels, but not as soft as the "microtouch" labelled towels, imo. you'll just have to check and see what type of towels tom has available if you're looking to buy from Tom.

I believe that you may be right. I know that the Viper Microfiber Detailing Cloths "are an 80/20 blend of Polyester and Polyamide."

Per CMA's Microfiber - What's the big deal page, "The Microfiber Magic Towel...is a 70% blend of Polyester and a 30% blend of Polyamide."

Also per the Microfiber - What's the big deal page, "While 80% Polyester and 20% Polyamide is typical, a 70/30 blend that contains more Polyamide fibers can be more expensive." and therefor better.

I stand corrected on both counts. :o

TOM said to me he cant understand why these towels are so expensive! dont we need a break once in a while with all these detailing items(PRICES) so high I can just imagine the MARKUP!

i may have made an error in my towel comparison saying that the "ultrafine microfiber" tagged towels were the neatitems towels. after a couple washes i noticed that the "microtouch" tagged towels appear to be the neatitems towels. i have made the correction in my previous posts. i noticed this when i found one of the old neatitems tags cut from a towel and it was the same as the "microtouch" tag except for the fact that the neatitems tag said neatitems on it. but both are still excellent since they are so damn similar. the one main difference being that the "ultrafine microfiber" towels being better at absorbing water. but that appears to be the only difference to me. all still excellent after a few qds, sg apps and washes.

I have bought and tried several microfiber towels based on this thread from Tom at jtintern@hotmail.com I have to say his 70/30 terry towels are high quality and have a thick very soft feel. Best of all, they are priced at deep discounts compared to other MF towels of comparable quality. He also has waffleweave drying towels at great prices. I highly recommend this great microfiber source. Fast shipping also.
