My new favorite interior detailing tool

I have heard woolite works for cleaning anything (besides glass) in the interior, I have yet to try it. We shall see how it works on my stains on the carpet. I would think for minor dust you could use your method and buff w/ a MF to use less product to prevent the need for redoing it w/ a solid sponge or cloth.

I couldn't remember the name of the pad for the life of me....



I think everyone should get better results using this pad with a cleaner like woolite or Vinyl-x.



I'm just using a protectant and the scrubber, and it's working wonders for me. I can't imagine the difference when using a cleaner.. I'm gonna pick one up (dunno which) this weekend and see if it makes a big difference...

I thought I recognized it from your pictures. Kinda funny, the Dobie has been around for something like 50 years. I remember when I was little my grandmothers always had 3-4 around the kitchen. I haven't seen one until your picture the other day.



I'm gonna pickup a couple this week and see how they work. Thanks for the tip!
 
I don't think the Dobie is the same as the bug sponge. The Dobie is a finer mesh, and when you run your hand along it, it feels like it has some scrubbing ability but not a lot. Also, the Dobie is fairly small as it will fit in the palm of your hand.



The bug sponge's nylon has larger holes and I think provides more scurbbing ability. Plus, it's about three times the size of the Dobie.
 
And, speaking from experience, will scratch the @#$% out of your paint...

Hmm.. I wonder if the bug sponge would work better because of the greater scrubbing ability, or if it would be too abrasive..



I've never used one, so I dunno...



Anyone?
 
I had to remove the front tint from my car when I brought it over to Germany. That kind of sponge with rubbing alcohol worked great for getting rid of the glue residue that was left behind.
