Hi there fellow detailing enthusiasts,

Two weeks ago I picked up my new car a Honda Accord Type-S (European version). Because the weather here is pretty bad I did not have an opportunity to detail it.

I did want to share some pictures with you so here they are...

I think in the US this version is sold as an Acura TSX

That is a great looking car. I am have thought about getting one of our US TSXs, but I don't think they are the same as the Type-S Accord. I believe that it is the same chassis but not the engine. I could be wrong though.

Could you divulge some quick specs?

Thanks,

Max

Thank you all for the compliments!

I really love this car, it looks very distinguished but also very sporty. I also drives and handles great.

Here are some specs:

Fuel Type: Petrol

Engine type: 4 cylinder in-line, all aluminium DOHC i-VTEC

Displacement (cc): 2354

Maximum power (PS @ rpm): 190@6800

Maximum torque (Nm @ rpm): 220@4500

Fuel type: Petrol

Recommended fuel rating (Research Octane Number - RON): 95

Transmission: 6 speed manual

Maximum speed (mph): 142

Acceleration 0-62 mph (secs): 7.9

Fuel Economy: Urban (mpg) 22.2, Extra urban (mpg) 40.9, Combined (mpg) 31.4

I do think it is basically the same car as the TSX. The real difference is the interior. De Euro Accord has the same interior as the US version. The Acura is quite different.

My plan of attack (if the weather ever gets better here...)

- dawn wash

- claying with Z18

- IHG

- dawn wash

- Z2+ZFX (multiple layers)

Don't sell your excellent sled short. I think you could match this pulling a trailer filled with Hooters girls. The spec here is 200bHp and hitting 100km/h in 5.9. I repeat, EXCELLENT ride. I am jonesing for one because they are all over the Beach area but the two cars will do until one dies. Practicality can be a hindrance sometimes...

The horsepower you quoted is correct, but the 0-60mph times I've seen for the TSX in the American car magazines (Car & Driver, etc.) have been in the 7.2 to 7.4 second range, nowhere close to what you've stated. I think you may have confused the TSX with the new TL (the TL is much faster, in the 5.9 to 6.2 second range I believe).

Even still, I think the TSX is an awesome car and its one that my fiancee and I are seriously considering for our next purchase.

Nice pics! :xyxthumbs

will the U.S (acura) version not have the pensioners gearbox giving the difference in times.

And why it has 200bhp to overcome this slightly.
