It's been a long 6 months waiting for this car. Flew out to Ohio last week and drove it home to L.I. Told the dealer not to touch it as I wanted to detail it myself. When I got it home you can imagine how dirty it was from the trip. As I started the job I started to wonder if I bit off more than I could chew as i'm a bit of a novice at this!

I washed, clayed, polished with VM, RMG, and topped with PS. The next day I drove over to Detailing Dynamics to inquire about some clear bra as I have heard they do good work. Met Matt, the owner and we walked outside to look at my car.

He took a few steps towards my car and stopped dead in his tracks. "who prepped this car"? Oh oh, I thought - I knew I shouldn't have done this. Before I answered he said "that car looks amazing - no way a dealer did that or you found one who really knows what they're doing". Needless to say I was pretty happy!!

Anyway, the car is Slate grey over black and the combination of me being lousy with a camera and slate very difficult to photograph I'm not sure how good these pics are. But, thought some of you might like to see them.

To quote a certain incarcerated ho-bag..."That's hot". Man that slate looks awesome, you must be very proud.

Cheers,

You did a heck of a job, and you should be proud.

With good washing and drying techniques, you should be able to keep the marring to a minimum, and spend more time driving and less time polishing.

Anyway, "ya done good."

Enjoy!

SICK SICK SICK did you use vm/rmg as seperate steps?

yes, I did them as separate steps. I know I could have used "pink moose" but it wasn't exactly a chore to do this first detail!

That car is one of the most beautiful vehicles I have EVER seen in my life!! The wheels are stunning, the color is amazing, and the yellow calipers are perfect!! Great detail!

Amazing car and perfect color choice!

You did a great job with the detail. I'd consider myself happy for the rest of my life if I could own one of those.

I love the color and am jealous of the car, good job on your detail!!! Good call on not letting the dealership create more work for you by telling them to not touch it.

It sure doesn't look like a novice detail. Awesome work! :2thumbs:

It really shows your love for the Turbo when you detail it to perfection yourself. Get your clearbra on and go enjoy it :woohoo:

BTW, the pics look pretty good to me. I'd love to see some more, including the interior.
