My Microfiber tech experience today...

So last week I posted about the Costco microfiber towels. Great responses BTW. So I decided to shop elsewhere for quality towels. Someone mentioned Microfiber Tech, which is here in San Diego. They are not set up for retail, but they said if I made an appointment I could come on down. Today they called me and said someone would be there and I could come in and ask for Dan. WOW
He takes me to the warehouse and shoes me EVERY towel they have, literally a thousand boxes. He insists I take everyone for a sample. Edge less, glass, waffle weave, 360gms, 800gms, even 1100 gms, applicator pads, dusters, he even gives me products for wood floor cleaning, pads, cleaner, pole etc. this was the epitome of great customer service

that sounds like a great deal.
ive heard good things about their towels

did you get one of the wheel towels with pockets?

Man that's great customer service, glad to see companies out there that are willing to go the extra mile... I'll have to check out there site...

Use code NEWS5 for 5% off. Absolutely fantastic website, although they never tell me when my orders ship, but they always show up within 2-3 business days.

These guys are all I use...the 560 gsm blue is my go to towel - perfect for virtually every facet of detailing...

I'm definitely going to give them a shot but when it comes to final wipe downs after polishing, NOTHING and I mean nothing beats autoalities 1400 gsm all white towel. It works perfect on the most soft of paints.

These...

Edgeless Microfiber Polishing Towel 16"x16" 350 gsm (pack of 10)

Looks like they got darker blue ones. Mine are lighter blue. Maybe they're different now? Doesn't really matter, as I use crazy piles for anything on paint. Best towel ever!!

LOL, 350 is like sand paper in the microfiber world (At least for soft paints).

The lower the GSM the harsher on the paint it's going to be also the cheaper they are. You don't need insane GSM towels for everything (That's a waste of money). You just need high GSM's for final wipe downs.

Trust me pick these up, it's like holding a cloud. I've never marred or swirled anything with these guys.

1400 GSM
Ultra-Plush Microfiber Towel 16" x 16"

This isn't mean't for heavy duty work. The higher the GSM also means the higher chance the fibers themselves can come off (Same as linting). The hairs on these are pretty short so they grab quick and don't lint very much. If they were longer they would probably be a ble to hold more product but in theory it makes up for that by being so thick an dense. Like I said these are not work towels, they are 100% made for final wipedowns.

When I did a WRC blue STI these saved my butt, these are the best for dealing with softpaints. All that said, these guys are so thick and white that if you use any type of heavy duty product that could stain... chances are they will unless of course your using a dedicated MF cleaner. (Which at 5-8 a pop you should be :) )

Just for you.
Fromt left to right, Cobra guzzler waffle weave, General 300GSM, Gold plush Jr 360 GSM, Miracle towel 550GSM, Super Plush Jr 600GSM, Autoality Ultra-plush 1400GSM.

Around what you were using 360 GSM towel vs 1400 GSM

One in the package... Always keep my spares :)

Since this thread started on Costco towels, I thought I would add my $.02 worth. My wife got me a package of the Kirkland Costco microfiber towels for Christmas (Made in China). They appear to be identical the the 360GSM towels from Microfiber Wholesalers. They are not anything like what people on here use generally for detailing. I recommend you look elsewhere if you are considering the Costcos...
