My latest creation!

Garry Dean

Garry Dean Quality!
Tonights batch!

Sweet and VERY spicy. Super tender and slightly moist. Carmelized like candy with a hint of pineapple and honey.

Im sure you will partake in the bulk batch I bring to Vegas. Seems like I could make some change making jerky, but not sure Id ever want to be in the food business.

You would be drooling if you smeeled my house while a batch was in the dehydrator. :rockon

What are you waiting for? Its an awesome snack. Very low in fat and high in protein.

I can't say that I blame you:drool:

My first client today confiscated the other bag. Looks like I need to pick up another cut and get to marination.

I have hardly been home other than to sleep lately. We usually wait until I know that one of us (wife or I) will be home most the day to keep an eye on the jerky. I usually cut the meat and marinade it the night before letting it sit in the refridgerator until morning when it goes in the dehydrator.

We also try to grab the steaks on sale when it is $3-5 per pound and we'll get 5-6 pounds for jerky. Many people don't realize the amount of money and work that goes into a decent batch of jerky. It takes some time to prepare and clean up, too.

My six year old loves jerky and always wants to have some for our road trips. :D His favorite is turkey jerky (mine, too).

There is a Jerky Store in Vegas just off of Fremont street. We stopped in and did some shoppng last year at SEMA. http://beefjerkystore.com/ I'm sure well stop in and do some shopping there again this year. :bigups

It is definately alot of work. Im sure I will see you at SEMA. Let me know when you are going to stop by that jerky store. I will have a cunch of mine for you to try.

I've never really tried jerky...I mean, other than a Slim Jim and I'm sure that's like comparing a Yugo to a Bentley. :D I like Slim Jims...but they aren't something I crave, really.

Guess I'm going to have to try some real jerky one of these days and see what all the rage is about. I do love the Jack Links commercials and laugh my ass off, yet I'm never compelled to run out and buy any...hehe.
