Well I was told you couldn’t tell the difference between Souveran and Trade Secrets and normally challenges like that I just ignore since it seems like they just cost me money and unwanted products. After checking out the website and finding this statement I decided to give it a try.
This remarkable carnauba wax may be layered for optimal effect and durability. Show vehicles are commonly layered with 15 to 20 coats, with each layer deepening the color. You'll never use another wax on black vehicles. Trade Secret carnauba wax will not streak or leave white residue. It will so transform your waxing process, you will look forward to applying it! Black and other dark colors will never again be a problem. Trade Secret's white carnauba literally deepens a vehicle's color with each layer.
First I did an IPA wipe down of one fender on my black 39 ford and applied Trade Secrets X2 to the fender. What my eye detected was increase in shine/gloss, Natty Blue depth but loss of that Souverian glow. Since I recently detailed my 39 and Good Guys car show is only a couple of weeks away I didn’t want to change LSP.
My 35 Ford needed a light polishing so I pulled out the XMT-1 and did a quick polishing to get rid of some small swirls that were induced by using QD at car shows. I put on three coats of Trade Secrets over the entire car allowing 24 hours between coats for cure time. I can say that after the first coat I was a little disappointed with the results I felt that is was lacked the depth and wetness of both Natty Blue and Souveran but had the shine of a lot of the sealants. The second coat seem to added the much need wetness and depth and it was very apparent where there was only one coat and where there were two coats of wax. With NB or Souveran I can see a difference in the second coat but nothing as dramatic as Trade Secrets. The third coat didn’t yield a dramatic difference but there was a slight difference. Since then I have added 4 more to bring the total to seven just to the hood and I have not seen any increase what so ever. I going to continue to put coats on just half the hood for a total of about 12 on one side and leave the original three on the other side and see if I can see a difference between the two. Of coarse a thread like this is worthless without pictures..
Now for the ones in the Sun
Trade Secrets will not be knocking my Souveran off the top shelf for black but I will be sitting on the second shelf next to Natty Blue.:cheers:
