My grandma........

Hopefully this is the right forum for this.....

Anyway, my grandma (she's in her early 90's) lives with us, and is quite capable of walking around by herself, inside and outside of the house......but i saw her do something the other day that sorta scared me, because I sure dont want anything like it to happen when i get a better car with better paint than what i've got now (Getting a Z28 this summer/fall)

My mom had taken her to the garden store, so there was space in the driveway (which goes up a fairly steep hill) next to my Catera, so my friend parked his Grand Am next to it. (Thank god his paint sucks and he doesnt care about his car, LOL).

Anyway, we were on our way out to his car to head over to the motorbike place that had the parts for his dirtbike, and as we were going outside, my mom pulls in behind him and my grandma gets out, and starts walking up the driveway. Before I could run over to help her up the driveway, she had already gone halfway up the length of his car with her hand, using it for support or whatever.....Okay, a few fingerprints or something, that wouldnt scare me.....

But she wears jewlery. LOTS of jewlery.....metal watches, bracelets, tons of rings.......I could hear them hitting the car, and i cringed as i put my arm out for her to use instead of the car. What would you guys do? What sucks is that we're building a 2 car garage, and i'll get one bay, and since my dad travels for business alot, my mom would be using the other one most of the time...and either side i get, i know that my car will be used for support or something. Sorta awkward, cant say anything about it cause she's my grandmother and very old and stuff.....

Any advice is welcome, except I am NOT doing anything to my grandma, lol my grandma. LOL

you could build the 2 car garage wide enough and install a metal hand rail in the middle of it and on the walls. That way she has something to grab onto AND your car would be protected even more from careless people opening their door because the door would be stopped by the hand rails.

If that is not possible, Maybe a really heavy soft car cover to put on top of ur car. It will soften the blows I guess. But doors will probably still dent it.

I wouldn't use the garage in the day time. Just pull it in at night. That way, nobody will be the wiser, your grandma won't be insulted, and she'll have more room to maneuver in the garage.

i say

a) educate yo grandma, make her a member on autopia

b) buy her a walking stick

c) train her through use of negative sanctions, whenever she touches a car when she is not meant to, roll up a newspaper and crack that coffin dodger upside the head...she'll learn quickly

d) wire up your car to about 8 car batteries...she'll move alot quicker

e) put a railing on the garage wall

f) make her walk into the house through the front door instead of the garage

g) put her in a retirement home

h) get big tony to make her go missing

i) last one...tell her she is not one of the 504 Boyz or Master P so there is no good reason for her to be wearin so much Bling hehe

ROFLMAO YOU ARE A GENIUS

Yeah, a handrail wouldnt be a bad idea, but it takes up more room and honestly, i mean shes in great shape concidering her age and stuff, but i dunno how long she's gonna be around.....know what i mean? 91 is fairly old....(although my great uncle, my grandmas brother, is 97 and still alive and kickin...just recently moved out of his house into an assisted living place, LOL), but...yeah...

I think the idea of just parking outside until they wont be going out is probably my best idea....and believe me, we've TRIED to get her to not wear as much 'bling' (Went to Puerto Rico a few months ago, getting through airport security was a B***H.....she was the only one out of 5 of us that at EACH AIRPORT we were at, had to be searched head to toe. LOL

Thanks for the advice so far, and if anyone else has any suggeestions, please....my dad could use them as well.....his G35x sedan is usually parked where my friends car was parked, so i dunno of she uses it too....haha

Another idea with the hand rail. You could make the hand rail removable, so then there would be little holes in the cement that you could plug, or put something else in there.

Or give her big padded gloves to wear when getting out on the drive way?

teach that biatch some manners, she 91....she can walk 5 meters witout restin on your car...when she watchin tv, start walkin around the room restin on all her favourite stuff, leavin grubby finger prints everywhere hehe..

respect to yo family, seems like long life is in your genes
