My Garage Door is Bonanza's?

Yesterday when my girlfriend got home she shut the garage door. When I went out there that evening it was open. I closed it again and went to bed. This morning it was open again. This is obviously problematic as all my tools are in there. It doesn't get triggered by the sensors when I close it but I did notice one of the sensor lights is red. While the other one remains green. My only assumption is that it doesn't really get a reading from each other and eventually opens again. Any suggestions or has anyone had this problem and found a solution?

Perhaps the electric eye sensor(s) are dirty or misaligned...although this should prevent the door from closing at all....still worth checking closely.
Does the door fully close and stay down for a time?
Perhaps there is some (other) electronic source that is opening the door? If all else fails, I'd try changing the code.
 
I would adjust and clean the senors. Make sure they are aligned properly and that the green light comes on. I had a similar issue with mine after a quick IPA wipedown on the senor lens everything seemed fine.
 
You are probably on someone else's garage door frequency. It happens from time to time with the rolling codes. What we usually do is clear all the codes and reprogram. If that doesn't help you will need to change out your circuit board to a different frequency.

To clear out the codes just hold the button on the back for 6 seconds or until the light goes off. Then to reconnect push and release the button on the opener and then press and release the button on the remote. Let me know if that helps.

My sensors ..one green..one yellow light. I think the green is the transmitter beam.
One will be the transmitter. The other is the receiver of the beam. Break the beam with your hand and one of the leds will go out.

You would have to hold the button in the garage if the sensors weren't allowing it to close. The door would always go back up if the sensors beam is broken during closing. Garage lights will flash when it goes back up too.

I've had my door lose the downward force adjustment which would give it a false indication of an obstruction. A simple increase in the downward force screw fixed it.
If you do any adjustments ..make sure it can go up if you put your shoulder under it. If not it's too high of a setting.
 
Could be your GF, I had my wife going for few days I had and extra garage door opener hidden in the house and would just randomly open it. She was so freaked out it was great fun seeing her trying to figure it out. AHH the simple pleasures in life.

Thanks for the input guys. I haven't gotten it yet. I switched it to manual and locked the garage door in the mean time. I'll definitely try cleaning the sensors and making sure they are aligned. I will also try resetting it to see if it does it again. Then I'll update :)

Another fun one is if you have directv and the box/remote is on radio frequency not IR and you have a extra remote lying around keep it in another room and just randomly change the channel once in a while or pause or fast forward if shes watching DVR. had her going for a while kept blaming her saying you must be hitting the button it never happens to me? maybe its a ghost? WHAT AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not sure if this will help you since I have the old style opener with just the pressure sensor and no eyeball sensors. Years ago I had the problem when I would leave for work I would watch the door close but when I would get home the door would be wide open. My problem turned out to be a sticky remote button. One day I noticed the door do the jitterbug(up, down, up...) I noticed the red light in the remote was still sending even though the button was released. I still haven't replaced the remote but my solution is tap the visor or remote so it shakes or vibrates so the switch releases.
 
I cleaned out the Sensors, one had spider webs on it, made sure nothing was catching on the doors, and tried it out yesterday. Seems that whatever issue it was has been resolved. I think it was those spiderwebs that tripped the system every once in a while. Perhaps when a spider disrupted the signal? Thanks again for all your help! Saved me money from having a pro look at it. lol

Glad you got it figured out. Those sensors can give people trouble sometimes.
 
hmm....I know if anything breaks the beam when it's coming down it will reverse....dunno if anything happens if the door is already down and the beam breaks ? (btw, "I don't like spiders 'n snakes and that ain't what it takes...")

Knock wood, yer troubles are over (but I'd keep a watch on it.)
