I have been tossing around the idea of purchasing a Flex xc 3401 VRG polisher for the last few days.
The reason I wanted one is to correct a few minor flaws in my paintwork.
I prefer driving the car over spending time detailing so my detailing consists of a complete spring detail and a second one just before our anual club show in mid August.
Since I used to polish cars 20+ years ago using a Makita rotary which I still own I decided to do a small test on the rear spoiler of my Mustang.
All I had on hand was a wool pad and some Mothers pre wax cleaner so that's what I used.
The scratches are deep enough to be felt with my fingernail and I already attempted to remove them both by hand using Mothers scratch remover and with the same scratch remover with a cheap orbital buffer.
Since my first attempt went so well I will be ordering some 3M Extra Cut Compound 06060, Swirl Mark Remover 06064, and Ultrafina SE 06068 along with a backing plate and a full compliment of pads for my rotary.

I would have liked to take some nice outdoor pics with the sun shining on the car but the weather had plans of its own.
