Out of curiosity, what are you basing that on? The fact that it doesn't look like Zaino? If it looks like carnauba but is a polymer, that's pretty cool. It doesn't mean it secretly has carnauba in it, though...

Thanks for the review. I only ordered the wax, and I am hoping it will add some beading on top of MPPP for the wife's car, but last a bit longer than #16 as a topper. That's all I'm looking for from it. If it performs better, then great!



As far as the car wash, what did you use previously? Have you ever used #00? What made it superior to what you used before? Its gentleness? Its toughness? It's lubricity? All of them? I like that #00 is very gentle and very slick/lubricating and that it rinses away clean (it doesn't try to improve the appearance, just clean it). That's all I really want from a carwash. Would that make NXT wash something to consider?

When I do my car and it's sunny outside, I'll give you my opinion. With it so overcast, I really can't tell. For instance, right now I see little or no swirls, but it may be due to the lack of light. I can't attribute that to NXT.



If it does cover swirls like this in bright daylight, I would definitely use it over Z2 or Z5
 
It's good for regular consumer use, but for people like us who are high critical and detail oriented it's okay. My parents would like NXT, for me I will stick with my P21S and Klasse products. JMHO.
 
I think all the hype has really done NXT a great dis-service. I think it kind of got out of hand. It has led to expectations that I don't think any product could hope to live up to. On a well prepped paint surface no product is going to make a night and day difference, it is the cars with not so great paint that I think NXT is really going to show the greatest benefit. It is far too early to make any real judgements on its performance.
 
I had the opportunity to use the NXT wax today on my white 4Runner and IMO the on/off application performed similar to Blackfire 2 that I had used in the past.



I let it haze for 20 mintues and buffed it off with a mf towel. I actually thought that it lived up to my expectations.



The paint had a little more gloss and shine to it. Durability is really not a concern to me because I tend to put a coat of wax or another layer of sealant just about every 2-3 weeks. Depending on the products I am using at the time.



All in all, I am satisfied with the results. :xyxthumbs It is not the best I have seen but it is not the worst.



Like everyone has been saying, the key is the initial prep work that is going to really make a difference.

Cool, thanks for the info. I'll have to pick some up to try... In about 17 years when I finally use up the gallon of GC wash! :eek:
 
I am just glad that this line is finally out so we can stop hearing about it! :lol .



I have always had terrible results with Mequiar's in the past, except their Final Inspection.



Does anyone notice this new line smearing or leaving a haze at all?
 
I would like to be able to buy Megs and support a great company. I do use FD and always will. But I really do want the protection of Zaino Z5/Z1. Yes it shines like it's plastic. Thats why I put P21s on it. I had hoped the Megs NXT would replace both. Maybe a silly hope I guess.



My truck paint is super shiny and slick w fd. Can it be better with NXT or at least the same shine and protection? If so, it is less expensive and I would switch.

I just finished my gallon of GC wash! It took a year and a half. I've used it to wash a few cars, but I've been mainly using it on my wheels. Okay, I cheated a bit, I use 4 or 5x the recommended strength :eek: to wash my wheels with. :D

I have to say... I love reading these reviews. I'm sure some people will love it, while others will prefer something else.



Personally, I like it. (yeah, yeah, yeah.... I work for the company that makes it, I still like it).



It will be interesting to see the results after the first year.

Mike,

What would you say it will replace as opposed to your usual routine, if nothing than what do you think you will use less often? Would you use it on just any vehicle that you restore or just under certain circumstances and why?

You're on the right track. I'm not so sure that NXT won't "fill the bill [aaarrrggghh......horrible pun]" for you. I have about 35 coats of Zaino on my 350Z and I think the NXT looks at least as good as another coat of Z when the car needs one.



I can't tell yet, but it may also fill swirls to some degree.



If it does, why wouldn't you buy that instead of Z and ZFX?



And what if it also makes the color a little deeper, so as to eliminate the need for the P21S?



The jury is still out for me.......I'm waiting for a sunny day......
 
Later today, I topped off the NXT wax with Poorboy's Natty Wax. I let it haze for about 10 minutes and buffed it off with a mf towel and it really made the paint look wet. Those of you who have already tried the NXT wax, I would recommend topping it off with your favorite paste wax. Whether that is S100/P21S, Pinnacle, Meguiar's, etc. I think you will be impressed with the results.



I have to give Poorboy's Natty Wax :xyxthumbs...for the easy application and it buffs off real easy and no dust.

Kind of hard to tell when one side has ample background to reflect off it and the other side has almost nothing to reflect back.

Micheal, keep us posted. I'm very interested in your impressions of NXT since we've got the same vehicle in the same color.

I currently use Blackfire 2 on the Z and I recently started using Platinum UPP on the three daily drivers in the household.
