My first job with my new PC

I got my PC within two days of ordering it from AutoGeek. EXCELLENT service!! I decided to hop right in and polish my car. Here is what I've done:

washed with Armor All car wash
dried with my trusty California Blade and chamois

hood, roof, bumpers and trunk clayed using Megs Quick Clay kit

hit the hood, trunk and roof with PoorBoys SSR2.5 starting with speed 4 and moved up to speed 5 and then speed 6

The rest of my car was done using ssr1 (I decided to use the different polishes assuming the wear was worse on the top-most surfaces)

Topped off with Natty's Blue Paste Wax. (That stuff smells outrageous!!!)




















All in all, I am very pleased with the results. Being my first time using the PC, i'll have to hit it again next week ;) One thing I need to figure out is how to remove the etched water spots in my roof and hood. I assume a more aggresive polish?

They may not be removable. SSR 2.5 is a pretty stout polish. I've got some waterspots on one of my vehicles that I can't get out, and I have tried everything I've got on them. I have minimized their visibility, but I have not been able to remove them. A guy from a paint & body shop said that they may or may not be removable by wetsanding. Seeing as how I am pleased with the vehicles appearance, I will pass on that.

Anyways, the car looks nice. Good to hear that you like the PC. :)
 
Me too, my 2000 Accord has alot of water spots on the roof too, I tried with PG,SSR2.5,M83 on a rotary an stil can't get it off. Maybe Honda paint sux and ez to etch on? I just live like that.
 
I think it isn't the best. I'm seeing some cracking in my paint. It looks like the dried ground in the dessert. It's teeny now but here's a shot of my wife's Explorer that has a MUCH larger cracking spot



I need to goto my dealer and have them look at the spot before it looks like that picture.

edit: the Explorer has been hit with my PC too. The paint is in much better condition than what you see around that bad spot LOL
 
I used the Wolfgang 5" orange cutting pad that came with the PC. Is there a more aggresive pad that might take off the etching? Or is that one harsh enough?

That's what I was afraid of myself. Like Jared Pointer, I'll live with it ;) maybe over time, they will begin to dissappear with regular polishing.

You may want to follow up a cutting pad & SSR2.5 with a milder pad & polish combo. There may be some hazing left behind with such an aggressive combo. I don't know if that's so in your case, but anytime I have used a cut pad with a heavy polish with my PC, I have always had to follow up with something milder.
 
I also could not get out some etching or spots in my lexus trunk and had to leave them . I was very happy with the rest of the paint of the paint though and it cleaned up very well. Most people only see the shine anyway:D

I was thinking the same thing but there was no haze at all. I either didsomething right or did something wrong LOL:D
 
The next time I hit the paint with the polish, that will remove the Natty's, right? Should I apply a sealer the next time before polishing?

You'd want to use a sealant after all your polishing steps are complete.
 
Great job on the detail! Like others said, if SSR2.5 and a medium cutting pad didn't take them out, they might be in there for goood.
 
Thanks for the compliments and suggestions everyone ;)

I was sorta thinking that sealant was semi-permanant. At least more so than wax. I really want to seal it so i get that DEEP and WET look :D:D
 
If you want a deep wet look this is what I do :
you don't need to clay so

SSR2.5 with polishing pad start out on speed 3 when polish begins to work in go to speed 6 and work it in very slowly you should work each panel at least 5 mins or until polish almost disapiers

PB PwC Blue also with polishing pad PC on speed 4

PB EX sealant with finishing pad 1st coat with PC set no higher than 1.5
wait 2 hrs then buff off then put another coat of EX by hand again wait 2 hrs and buff off

after (I wait 36 hrs ) 24 hrs apply 3 coats Natty's Blue by hand waitting 1 hr between coats

this is what I do to my car and it looks great good luck!:howdy
