My first detail with M105/205...

So I ordered the sample sizes of Meguiar's M105 & 205 from ADS to see if all the hype is warranted.

My test subject, an 04 Honda CR-V in Royal Blue Pearl (Owner thought it was black this whole time :grinno: )

This is after a wash and clay:

As you can see, the paint was pretty beat up.

Here are some result pics...

Process was:

Wash & clay

PC7424 w/

M105 on 5.5" white polishing pad

M205 on 6.5" black finishing pad

M21 hand applied w/ black foam applicator ( X2 )

Got my favorite compliment from the owner when I returned it, He had no idea his car was actually blue, he thought it was black since he bought it off the lot 5 years ago :woot:

Oh and I think I'm going to pick up some more M105/205 :D

Very good looking, and very good corrections, I havent tried m105 yet, but i hear many good things about them. You might also want to try Megs Diamond Cut compound, very good also!!!

I thought the car was black too!!!

looks great!

I love showing customers that they are wrong about what color their car is :) My favorite was like 6 years ago, an old blazer that was a light gray. Turned out to be dark blue when I was done. Gosh I wish I had pics of that one.

Where did you get those samples from? I have been looking around and trying to find some sample sizes but it seems that nobody has them. By the way, I thought the car was black before the polish. The paint is really deep too. Great Job!

:wow: The CR-V looks much better!! :2thumbs:

But believe it or not, that car actually is black. Honda/Acura's Nighthawk Black Pearl has a real considerable amount of blue flake to it. If you saw the blue CR-V you would be able to tell the difference right away. Don't worry...you most certainly aren't the first person NBP has tricked into thinking it's blue (it fooled me and one of my friends).

This is my dad's Nighthawk Black Acura RL with the blue flake popping under the halogen...

But in the natural light you can see it is black...

I got my samples a while back but not tried them yet would there be a need to re-wash the vehicle after?

No need, I just did my 3rd detail with the 105/205 combo today, haven't needed to re wash.

Thanks for the tip michakaveli, I appreciate it. I've never really payed much attention to the inside of the wheel wells other than some quick spray detailer.

Haha, yeah just yesterday I saw a CR-V in the royal blue color and realized that the one I did must have been NBP.

It's crazy how blue it is in direct light, glad to know I'm not the only one to make that mistake.

Nice RL btw, is it the SH-AWD? I love those cars.

Thanks. It's actually my dad's but yep it's a total blast and that SH-AWD is a very capable and transparent system.

You know the 270º ramp from US-26 West to OR-217 South? The RL can take that at 55 (it's a 25 mph turn) without even squealing the tires, all thanks to the SH-AWD.
