this is a 2007 chevy express cube van. over the next few weeks ill be detailing it and trying to take it from its tattered, smelly, greasy shape and transform it into a clean, shiny, detailed workhorse.

this truck has been driven 10 hours a day 5 days a week since we bought it new in 2007.

each of those days it was driven by a guy who smoked in it. He would smoke with the windows down, the windows up and used the ash tray regardless of window position.

We bought him a new van for this year, but no one else can stand the horrible stench that  was coming from the interior of this van.

I have spent 10 hours to get it to this point.

Products Used:

Woolite (10:1)

Meguiars APC+ (4:1)

Simple Green (1:1) for the floor

Microtex Microfibers

VapAmore mr100

Bissell Little Green Proheat

MR Clean Magic Eraser

Various boars hair brushes

anyways, on to the pictures

What do you think?

looks good and if thats the before interior pics then I would hate to see the exterior

The exterior is just a neglected mess, and the box in back is greasy (due to the nature of our business).

I only plan on doing a single step polish on the front cab area, and polishing/sealing the glass as this is now just a backup vehicle. I will be degreasing the box area as well.

thank you, as soon as the weather warms up a bit i will be adding more pictures as some of the step i need to complete require the use of my pressure washer

Some of the guys I work with drive around with their work vans trashed like that. I don't get it.  I spend way too much time in my work van to have it look like a garbage dump.  Nice cleanup

Just a tip... I noticed the paper clips (I think that's what they are) in the center console by the drink holder... I keep a telescoping magnet to grab metal objects in tight spaces of the interior.  Always helps with that 'last dime'/ paper clip/ & various female hair items that are hard to grab when you have gloves on.

Intense work load you had there, thanks for posting!

It baffels my mind as well. I was just talking to my boss about his car and all of my co-workers cars that i have to drive on occasion. I get into their cars with some type of cleaner and a garbage bag. I cant stand driving in filth.

Thank you for the tip. Those were paper clips. Luckily, I didnt have any get stuck in any undesired location.  The worst part wasnt the clips however, It was the stuff that i found under them. caked on, baked on cigarette ash mixed with soda, mixed with coffee, mixed with whatever else he possibly spilled. It tested my gag reflex very well.

Fantastic. You just doubled the resale value of the vehicle. Excellent!

Thank You! If we were selling it that would be nice, but once this one is done Im stealing the motor and transmission out of it for a project car.

Very nice work. Bet you're feeling as if sitting in a totally different car now.

Honestly it does. I had to drive it yesterday and I couldnt even smell a hint of smoke. Only citrus from the air fresheners in the vent.
