My First Attempt At Headlight Restoration

I tried cleaning up the headlights on 2 of our cars. On the green cougar I need to go over them again with 600 or 800 grit to try & get the rest of the old clear off.

Here is the G35 coupe. I need some advice on how to get the haze off. You can see it when the lights are on. Both of these were real quick attempts so next time I will take my job & work slow.

Looks like you still need to get some of the sand marks / hazing on the G35 (love that car)...are you doing this by hand?

On the green Cougar you need to sand that down a bit more to really get the rest of the CC off

All in all this is a great job!

I'm using a cordless drill with 4" CCS orange pads & SSR2.5 then follow up with PB Pro Polish. How do I get the sand marks off? I wet sanded them with 2000. Do I just need to polish them out some more?

Keep in mind there may be some things you just can't do. They both look a lot better, and while I still think there's room for improvement on the Cougar, I wouldn't try to get perfection out of the Infiniti. I don;t know if what I am saying makes sense to you or not, but on a daily driver it may be hard to reach and/or stay at that "perfect" level.

As far as removing haze, it looks like more polishing would do the trick.

the improvement is showing and Jared's advice is on the money ... take your time and the results will follow;)

I'll have to take a closer look at them today. I really think that the hazing is due to the sanding. I'm going to try some SSR1 with a white pad then follow up with Pro Polish & see how it turns out. Thanks fellas for all the input!!! If it wasn't for these types of forums I would have never known that this was possible to do. So Thanks Again!!!!!!!
