My Diablo on show

I Spent the weekend at a local car show. Mostly street rods and customs. I had the premier spot in the show, Right in front of the main doors. This was the first show I've ever done so it was a learning experience too. I spent about 3 full days cleaning and polishing :)

Here's what I used for detailing:

Exterior: Autoglym SRP with a Sonus green pad followed by two layers of EGP applied by hand.

Wheels/Engine: Autoglym Engine cleaner, Never-Dull

Interior: Leatherique rejuvenator and pristine clean

Finally some pics:

Sweet car. The pics are a little dark but it looks great. I spent a good part of my adolesence dreaming about that car. The SV model to be exact. :bow

Get us some daylight pics when you get a chance. I'd love to see more of that car!

:xyxthumbs I'm thinking that if you wanted to, a normal wash and dry would've sufficed. I mean come on, it's a Lambo...

so that is just SRP & 2x EGP???

wow - that looks amazing!! - have you thought of topping that with a carnauba? I bet souveran would be unreal on that car after the EGP layers.

Yah, the pics are a bit dark. I promise to post some sun light pics soon :)

That's just the SRP and 2x EGP. No carnauba over it. I thought about layering it but I didn't want to dull the shine. Not that it would I am just not sure about that. I'll probably do some experimenting :)

Thanks guys.

Nice job.

How was your 1st show experience? Will you do it again?

I have also done one show and am debating if I will continue this year. It was so much work and the recognition was nice, but I am on the fence.

I think it depends on the show.

So many questions... :)

All: I promise to take some good close-up pics next time I take it out for a drive. Interrior and exterrior.

Jimmy Buffit: It's a '95. The show was in Syracuse. The red car looks great.

Intercooled: I drive it as many weekends as possible when the weather is nice.

pt91: Like you say it was a LOT of work. But it kept me out of the house and office for a few days :) I will do a few one day drive in type shows this summer but no more big 3 day events until next year.

Thanks to everyone on this site. I was a total detailing newb before I found Autopia. Didn't even know what a PC 7424 was :) I'm still no expert but I'm learning more all the time.

Ok, you asked for some close-ups, here ya go. Took these right before washing her.

Hope these are what you wanted. If not, to bad :p j/k :D

Let me know what you guys think. This was 3 full days of work with a PC and Autoglym.

That is amazing light reflectivity, :xyxthumbs :xyxthumbs with one of the â€Ëœbestâ€â„¢ paint finishes an optically clear Carnauba like Souveran its my opinion that the finish would acquire even more depth (this is in no way a criticism, just a strive for absolute perfection):)

Thanks Jon!! It's thanks to your many in depth posts (and many others here) that I was able to get it looking that good.

I am going to try topping it with either Souveran or P21S to try and get a little more depth. Haven't decided which yet. Both seem to be very highly regarded here on Autopia.

That has to be one of the most amazing paint jobs I have ever seen, superb ... very typical of AG finish too, mirror like. I reckon a carnauba would make a difference though, regardless :xyxthumbs
