UGGG.... I've said it before on here and I'll say it a 1000 times. Prices are extreamly specific to your own location. Just because some detailer in "High rent area "A" can snatch $500 for a wash and wax dosen't mean pro detailer in "Slumdogs B" can do the same. It gets soooo annoying always reading "Hey man you need to up your price... you killing yourself... blah blah blah.." You guys have no idea whatsoever of his current market or his current skill level. He could be dead sqaure in the middle of an area where the average median income is $25,000/yr or less. Lots more of those areas in this nation that the uber nice rich areas. I'm glad alot of you guys can demand hundred and hundreds of dollars for even the most basic of details. But it dosen't mean everyone can and it dosen't mean anyone is cutting themselves short. If he lives in high dollar area has years under his belt and is just a top notch detailer and only charging those prices then yea he's hurting himself. However if ANY of those are not true then I think he's pricing himself just fine. It's not about where you start. It's about where you end up. As long as you don't lower your prices to snake others business. And consitentaly raise you're pricing as your skills go up then you're just fine to start wherever you want. But if you're in an area where most of the detailers are asking $100 for a full detail and you're coming in demanding $250. then you had better had a darn good reason as to why you're so much better than everyone else around you. If you're not better than them yet.... well you see where I'm going with this.
