My dad froze my waffle weaves..

I have been looking for my drying WW's for days. I knew my dad misplaced them, but he tells me that he didn't touch them. Now today, my dad finally find them in the refrigerator, half frozen. Will this damage them in any way, shape, or form?

I don't see how that would hurt them in any way, but I have to ask how they wound up in your refrigerator? :chuckle:

I have no idea. I was done washing my car and I put them on top of the frig in my garage (yes, I have a frig in my garage). I wake up the next morning (mind you, this was 2 and 1/2 weeks ago), and they are gone. I ask my dad FIRST, and of course, he has no idea where they are. Now today, he finds them in the frig in the garage. Hes not one to confess he messed up or say sorry either.

I ordered new WW's anyway, lol. Im just concerned if I can still use these, SAFELY (with no marring, etc.)

I can't possibly see how that could hurt a towel. In fact, i would bet money that it didn't hurt them.

why not just go out and try them in a small spot?

If you lived in very cold climates and used "air drying" for your laundry you would know not to let them get frozen as that would get the fabric damaged (water expands in volume when turning into ice which means water trapped in fabric would be tearing fabric once frozen). If your towels ended up in freezer while dry there is way much less chance anything damaging happened. I would use them.

They were damp when he put them in, thats why the got a little frozen. Yeah it sucks, he said he thought it was "food". Whatever, I did not even think of the refrigerator as a place to look for them, as I thought that was the last place they would end up. I'm still ont he fence as to whether I should use them or throw them away...

In his slightest defense, they were in a little plastic bag, which was tied up, so they were a little bit disguised.

How do you mistake towels for FOOD??

They were in a plastic bag. Listen guys, all I'm concerned about is if the properties of the towel are harmed in any way. I really don't need scratches on my new car...

#1 (And in the order of priority) Don't be upset at your dad. One wouldn't do that intentionally. And fact that he accidentally mistook them for food might be a sign of something that you should worry about if you care about him.

#2 Just use them. If they turn not to be perfect for paint anymore (which I doubt) they can always be delegated to something else. And if you are AR perfectionist that will not accept anyting less I will accept free towels.

Just wash and dry them, look them over real close and then do the CD test. That will tell you if they're going to scratch or not.

I really don't think you'll have a problem, but the CD test will tell you for sure.

One of possibilities is early symptoms of dementia / Alzheimer's.

Well the health thing is not what really bothers me. But I thank you for being concerned. My dad is as healthy as a horse which is why I wouldn't expect something like this from him.

I guess I will wash the towels and test them out. I am just dissappointed because these were my good WW's and to put them in the frig is just so unneccessary.

Physical health tells nothing about it. My mom is healthy from that perspective yet she is suffering from Alzheimer's for many years now.
