This is old news to a lot of people but since I’m an amateur who is still trying to find the best materials to polish my black car with I thought I would post up my recent thoughts from comparing Meg205 and Griots Perfecting Cream in case others have the same issue I have had with M205.
Last year was my first year to successfully polish my black car and remove ALL the swirl marks and when I saw the result I felt like the King of the World, I damn near cried it was sooo beautiful. The compound that gave me the satisfaction was Megs 205. Although I had briefly tried other compounds with same results I always stuck with M205.
Fast forward to this week when I needed to re-polish before applying CSL/EXOV4. I grabbed my ol’ favorite M205 and went to town..or maybe just around the block b/c I didn’t get too far. One issue that 205 always bugged me was that sometimes it dried within seconds. A little spit to wet it and it was good to go…sorta. More spit and more spit…you get the idea. Temps were mid 80’s and a little humid but a pleasant day to do this in the garage but this was really annoying and slowing the process.
I did have some Griots Perfecting Cream on the shelf and I remembered that it produced the same end results so I thought I’d give that a try. WOW! What a difference! Not ONCE did it dry out and the working time was extremely long. The cream remained “wet/oily” and I remained hydrated the entire evening.
So anyone that is frustrated from a polish that dries too soon try Griots Perfecting Cream and see if it works better for you. The results are the same as M205 but it can be worked forever.
Thanks to all you people that post your experiences, it`s greatly appreciated!
I hope to finish the car over the next few days then apply CSL/EXO V4 on Thursday so I can drive it this weekend.
