My car is ruined!

I recently had my daily driver (Acura CL-S) in for some repairs. The first time I brought it in, they replaced the axles and motor mounts, when I picked it up the problem still existed, not to mention there were about 10 new dents in my car!!!! I brought it back the dealership and explained that the car was still acting up, they proceeded to blame it on "bent rims", so I took it to just tires and had them test the rims. Guess what!! Not bent! So I brought it back to the dealership and explained to them that the rims were NOT bent, and I wanted the problem fixed. Also prior to me bringing the car in for service there was only one small dent now there were quite a few more, I would know because I spend numerous hours detailing my car. Well he says that when I bring it back to have the problem with the axles and such fixed again that they would have the dent specialist look at them. Well I picked my car up this past Tuesday, and noticed two things. One being they washed and SCRATCHED the hell out of my car after I purposely told them not to wash it because they always scratch it when drying, and second they only fixed three of the dents, there are still quite a few left including 4 new ones! Now I'm being told that those other dents were already there! I'm fed up! Now the doors and panels of my car look like a Chicago street, dents all over, it looks horrible. Well I was so upset that I got it home and took out my buffer and Menzerna and began to buff out the scratches, well apparently I was so aggravated that I forgot to shift all the way up to park, and I just happened to have the drivers door open. Well, the car rolled back and folded the lip on the end of the door on the wall of the garage. So now, I have a dented, scratched car with a messed up door! I know the door is my fault and I keep asking myself how I could be so stupid, I wasn't thinking straight after seeing how terrible the car looked. :sadpace: I don't even know where to go from here.

Ok the damage is done now it's time to fix it. I feel your pain. Took a brand new WRX (20 mi) into the dealer for a warranty job and they did $3000 damage to the interior. Got it fixed but needless to say it never is going back there. Same deal first off find a new dealer. Second find a dent wizard look here http://www.dentwizard.com/ and get them to look at the minor dents. About the door find a good body shop. You can ask the dealer to pay for the dent wizard but doubt they will. Calm down and concentrate on fixing the damage.

The dealership that I bring my car to, and the one that caused the dents and fixed some of them is on that list. I will say the dents that they did fix look 100% better, but they only did 3.

Look on the bright side, at least you have a hot girlfriend :D

Or, unlike a customer of mine, you didn't back up an S600 with the driver's door open in your garage and nearly take it off the car when it hit a support pole. $4500 to fix!

A lot of dealerships just don't care apparently. My brother used to have a 1971 Challenger with a white vinyl interior with red crushed velour inserts. He spent a whole day cleaning his interior and later that week took it to the dealer to have the front end rebuilt. When he got it back, there were grease stains all over his door panels and seats and ground in oil in the carpets. The dealership's comment? That's what happens when cars get worked on. :soscared:

That was more than 20 years ago. Sad to see it still goes on. :(

Did the dealer perform a walkaround when you took the car in?Most dealers do noting all dents and scratches. IF THEY DID AND THEY ARE NOT LISTED THEY ARE LIABLE. IF THEY DIDNT PERFORM A WALKAROUND THEY ARE LIABLE. What it comes down to legally is that the burden of proof is on the defendant,in this case the dealer. If they did do a walkaround you would have signed so no way of coming up w/ a fake one. So talk to them nicely see what they will do. Explain that the door was your fault, you dont even want them to touchit uless its out of your pocket so you come across as a reasonable individual. If your not happy then go above your service supervisors head. Also bring in Acura'scustomer service dept. as they have people just for this problem. Do not bring up legal matters or an attorney till your prepared to go to court as once you MENTION it the dealership can no longer help you as they cannot act as a representative of the dealership in a legal capacity..but their lawyer/legal dept can. So as a last resort go that route but like I said Burden of Proof is on the defendant.
