Here is my 2002 Xtreme Blazer-



I use: Meguires Deep Crystal Car Wash Soap- Mequires Clay bar with Mother's Showtime as a lube- Meguires Deep Crystal Polish- Meguires Show Car Glaze #7- Nanowax.



I seem to like this method. I have never used a DACP or any kind of buffer. So I am reading up on it and will probably try one soon.

I havnt waxed it in about 5 months so thats my plans for this weekend. Tell me what you guys think- im new here.

I would recommend getting a Porter cable 7336sp at Loew's for around $109. It may be a little pricey, but it is well worth it. This was my best purchase toward detailing. :xyxthumbs



I like Meguiar's 6-1/2 " polishing pad, they are a good all around pad. You'll probrably need a 6" backing plate, just make sure it fit's the pc.



I don't know the condition of your paint so polish would be hard to recommend (i don't know how aggressive of a polish you need to get the job done). I would recommend #80 though it's a great polish. It's strong enough to deal with some moderate stuff, and leaves the finish wet clear and shiny. Also you could move on to your sealant or wax from hear. If you need to be more aggressive i would try #83, but you will most likely need to follow with #80 or #82 IMO, this is why i would try #80 first. hope this helps.

Yeah my paint is in excellent condition- a few rock chips in the hood(damn semis!) but other that no swirls or anything. I just want more depth in my paint.

You must have some swirls or light scratches if your car has never been polished. these could be better seen in direct sunlight or under a halogen light. Most cars come with swirls from the dealership. They include fee's for swirls in your paymant plan



If your looking for depth and shine, there are many products for this. but i would first polish.This will make all the difference in the world with overall apperence. This is the part that is most often skipped by do-it-yourselvers. Waxes alone will only do so much, now put that wax on a clean and polished finish, and bam! :shocked



I am just starting out, and reduced swirls on my car white acura, using 3m SMR , and then klasse twins. This came out great but there is still light swirls, the aio removed some fillers, but the swirls were lighter.

I now realize the extream difference polishing makes, especially on black! the car looked 100 times better after polishing, the wax was just icing on the cake.
