My bike

I posted pics of the bike when I first got it but never posted finished pics. These first two are when I got it a month ago and the last 3 are how the bike sits now, except my lower fairing has been painted to match the bike and is now back on.

2000 Ninja 250 (Ninjette)

Here is what I did to the bike:

  • Removed all decals
  • Had lower fairing painted to match the bike
  • Cut rear fender and installed a license plate bracket
  • Added aftermarket rear turn signals
  • New chain and sprockets
  • New Bridgestone BT45 tires
  • Painted wheels black
  • Added brake lights to the two outer rear reflector sockets

As for gear I got a Snell rated HJC helmet, gaunlet style Joe Rocket leather gloves, Tourmaster leather jacket, and Alpinestars boots. All I need are pants and I can hit some track days.

Me likes! Not bad at all. I really like it. Id like to have a used 250 to just ride around on and save some gas during the nicer months. Im not into like some of my buddies that need 1100s 1200s. I just wanna ride around and enjoy myself. Looks great!

Thanks everyone!

Yeah, I wanted a nice starter bike. The 250 fit the bill for me. I plan on takcin it to the track and having some fun with it either the end of this year or next. My goal is to get really comfortable on the 250 and then move up in a year or two. If I REALLY enjoy track days I wouldn't mind doing one of two things. Get a biker bike for the street and use the 250 for a cheap track bike or use the 250 for my commuter bike and find a bigger bike for the track. But that is a ways away. LOL

I forgot that the rear, you can ALMOST see it, has etched glass style Danase decals. LOL

Ya, we are going to need a close up shot of that when you get time. :chuckle:

I keep forgetting! LMAO I'll try for tonight because I will probably take it for a ride if the rain stops.

So when you get comfy, you can upgrade to a bike that doesnt require "plugging in" at night:nana:

haha the old Ninja 250. A buddy of mine had one years ago and thought it was the fastest thing on the road, until he got decimated by my Camaro from a roll. Looks good!

I don't know how anyone could think these are the fastest things on the road. My F-150 gets up and going faster than this thing. LOL

Great bike, Bob! But, I can't see at all the Danase decal :(

There are two decals on it now. Nobody has really even noticed the decals because they are very faint on the red bike. I like it that way. I like the bike clean and free of stickers but I have to have a Danase decal on all of my vehicles. LOL It's a must.
