My "best " customer award

Well I haven't yet figured out how to make Langka repairs flat with the surrounding surface but I do know how to bring up the shine. After you are done with the Langka treatment just hit it with a buffer loaded up with Maguiar's fine cut cleaner or hand rub it with Maguiar's Scratch X.

The key to Langka is to let the touch up dry enough...Like at least an hour, but 3 is better...the directions say it must be dry to touch...At least! See it as a tool....For the right kind of chip, like where there is a clear crater though the color coat into the primary, langka works great...I had one on my hood a couple wks ago where a rock did its job form a truck wheel. Knowing I would try Lankga on this, I blobbed on the touchup, not minding that it was outside the borders of the chip...I let it dry a few hours, then took the plastic card and wrapped a single layer of non-fuzzy cotton around it tightly..you dont want to be removing paint from within the crater. Then, just rub over the area, but not IN the area, and youll find the paint has come off, except within the crater...I couldnt even see it afterward...Then, I just applied a little hand buffing with your favorite polish/glaze, and a coat of wax over the area, and it was done...perfect.

Sweet guys. Thanks for the help. I already ordered some of the stuff and I'll let you know how I make out. You won't believe how hard this stuff is to get in Canada!! No one in Atlantic Canada had a clue what I was talking about - not even the touch up body shops!!

I have a customer who has been living in Oregon the last few years so I havent seem him or his truck in several years .

Its a white 4 runner thats been really neglected ,single stage paint thats pretty oxidized now and the interiors totally trrashed with dirty leather and margairita spills and dirt and dust everywhere from dirt roads hes traveled daily .

This is what he said to me ..........

" I want my f###ing truck truck to look like F###ing new again!
(here somes the best part..) And I dont care how long it takes you or how much you charge me ,I just want my f###ing truck to look like new!!!!!!"

Isnt that sweet!!! :biggrin:I wish all my customers would say that to me!

Yeah, Im working like a dog this memorial weekend and lovin it! :)

ps. sorry for the cuss words admin

Im so used to people wanting to know exactly how much its going to be and exactly when its going to done.

This is one job Im really enjoying! I spent 51/2 hours on the interior already . I probably spent half hour on his vents alone :p Happy camper here!

Hmmmm. Wonder if it has anything to do with the margarita spills. Are you charging in tequila?

No, the spills were mostly on the carpet . The vents were caked in dirt and dust .

I dont accept alcohol for payment LOL or accept alcohol while Im working for that matter:D The job would never get done if I did!

He always pays in cash.

I hate it when you put your all into a vehicle and they just trash it again! It makes me want to cry!

The silver lining is there's a repeat customer. :Dancing Dot: It's the unappreciated freebies for family or friends that stick in my craw.

A former S.O. went car shopping, really wanted something black. This is someone who doesn't take particular care of her vehicle... or anything else. I mentioned to her if she bought black she was on her own. Yeah, right. :o

So the previously owned black SUV shows up looking fairly decent although I knew what I'd see once all the dealer's glaze was cleaned off... swirls, RIDS, etched water spots. After a thorough cleaning and clay she was steamed and demanded to know what I'd done to her glossy, black SUV! :cursing:

I spent 3 days and 30+ hours giving it the works, some wet-sanding, compounding, polishing... even broke out the 85RD and jeweled it to perfection. A couple of coats of 915 had it looking stunning. So perfect that the coating of dust on it the next morning was flawlessly even. :toetap05: She was so thrilled she immediately took it to show a friend her new sparkling ride... the friend that just happens to live on a dirt road. Did I mention it had rained copiously for the 3 days I was slaving away in the garage? :banghead:

I never detailed it again. Washed it occasionally when I couldn't stand to look at it but nothing more. As this was merely an indicator of other issues I sent her packing soon after and avoid women with black cars.
