My Accord detailed and modded up...new wheels

thanks for all the compliments and kind words....

my tranny has 88000 miles on it and it is running pretty good....shifts into drive hard when you first pull out of the driveway in the morning....but once everything is up to temperature is performs great....hopefully it will last a long time....

ssr is not going out of business. they still have new wheels coming out this year, and are a major producer of wheels for the jgtc cars. you can pretty much count on ssr's always being made because the same company that makes work wheels and a few other companies also makes ssr, so worst case is another company assumes the speed star name.

Ok, then maybe I read that they're discontinuing something....maybe the GT1s? I use to see them available on tirerack, now they're not there. Thanks for clarifying that for me.

the problem with the tranny is there is no actual filter for the fluid

they have an internal filter but all it is, is a screen

so basically the tranny with normal wear and tear just like motor oil gets dirty and has chunks of metal floating around, but nothing filters it so it basically plugs the fluid passages up utill it no longer is lubricating itself and BOOM tranny failure

you won't find many (if any) honda transmissions with filters as far as i know, so that isn't the problem. All i know is that they install a jet over 2nd gear to spray it, but it doesn't do a whole lot for it. fwiw though, i've never known anyone personally to have trans problems with the particular cars listed, and have always enjoyed my automatic hondas :)

Not sure if they were the 1 piece versions.....but tirerack had them pretty cheap.

There are 2 issues with the tranney. The issue with the 2nd gear a heat issue and "oil jet" kit is bandaid to prevent it from locking up. The other issue is the 3rd gear clutch packs wear out and eventually the tranny dies. The 2nd gear issue is more dangerous in that the car can feel like it "locks" up and there is very little warning. Descriptions I've read are that people are on the highway, the engine suddenly revs up and feels as if the car is thrown into 1st or 2nd, chance of getting rearended, etc.

Oh and yea.....i am on 3 wheels in 2 of the pictures....

You have one beautiful looking Accord! The wheels really do suit the car. Love the last pics, I keep thinking it's like a one of the stylish Mitsubishi ads they used to run. Hmm, maybe Honda should contact you for some ideas for their commercials.

I think I'll put on Dirty Vegas singing "Days Go By" now.
