my 94 year old grandfather, washes his car by hand when it rains!!

Well i never really saw him much, due to the fact he lives about 2 hours away. Anyways i went to see him,and i always wondered how he kept his car so clean. He has a new bucik (old man car design one) not sure of the model, but it always looks clean. I asked him, and he washes his car when it rains to conserve water. He does a really good job to, and i believe the tires were even dressed!! He is 94 years old, and still gets up every morning around 5 to go slim his laps at the YMCA. Wow i wish i had that energy!!

i was at Beaverun and an 80 year old guy was racing a motorcycle-i talked to him and he said"when you're my age you don't quit moving because if you do you die" good advice if you ask me

Yeah i like to refer to him a the bionic grandfather. I have never seen anyone his age move like him, swim 2 miles a day or more, walk like him etc,and wash a car like him he is good lol!!

When we were young we were told (Rolls Royce, Bentley, etc) to wash vehicles with plain water or better yet rain water.



I definetly agree with an active mind and body will last longer and be happier than just sitting down waiting to die. Some of the older folk that are sent to our PT unit are amazed how much better they feel and how much more energy they have after one ot two weeks of supervised activity.

That's pretty cool. My grandfather was always a car nut and kept his cars tip top until he passed away.

quamen- Great to hear your grandfather is still actively *living* his life. I too come from a family where the oldsters kept on exercising and doing their chores (including detailing) right up until they passed away.

Good for him! Thats really great to hear, especially in these days of diseases, etc. I wish him the best for many more years of car washes. I wish I came from an active family, which I didnt. But my Grandmother did live to be 98 and stayed alone all summer in her cottage until she was 97.
