My Excursion
Well here is my 2000 Ford Excursion Limited. I finally got my computer running right.
Anyway here is my steps

Hand wash with Auto Magic Econo Suds #52
Auto Magic # 715 Low Foam Cleaner & Lesters Sales Company Lesters Cleaner concentrate to clean the tires and wheel wells. (can be also used for engine and interior cleaning) I used both of them becasue I ran out of the Auto Magic 715. Lesters Cleaner concentrate one gallon can be ratio heavely up to five gallons. Similar with Auto Magic one gallon can be ratio up five gallons.
I didn't clay it this time because It didn't really need it. (But I clayied it with Clay Magic Medium Grade with Auto Magic Body Shine #49 back in April)
Lesters Buffing pads (aka Buff N Shine pads)
Auto Magic XP Polish #88 to remove light scratches with Dewalt 849 buffer and Lesters 3000G Pad.
Auto Magic BC-2 with Lesters 2000G Pad
Unifirst sales and rental towels. (a Uniform rental company)
3M Detailing Cloths
Auto Magic Dress-It Right #61 for tires and wheel wells.

About Auto Magic, I don't work for them but I do work for a company that use heavly on Auto Magic products and even buys them by the 55 gallon drum size. And I have been satisfied with there products. One thing I learned from my local distributor is that some products like Mothers and Meguiars are just over priced labled products and over rated. Also my local distributor (Lesters Sales Company) is not a Auto Magic distributor but he does have his own brand. I found out he buys the chemicals with out lables because they are cheaper and he put his owned lables. I notice this board is a little favoritism and thats fine, I will try them out.

Looks good. I'm also a heavy AutoMagic user. Bc-2 is my fav. polish. The place where i used to work also used their products.

Yeah this place has a little favoritism tworads the boutique stuff. AutoMagic gets a bad rep just cause dealers use them and they're cheap. its all good though, the boutique stuff is just as good.

Man thats a lot of paint to prep and work the end results show the fruits of your labor. Nice job..

I have some bodymagic non acid wheel cleaner and APC my Daughter gave me both products are par with boutique and OTC items..

thank you. It is alot of paint to prep and buff. The roof on these SUVs is huge... Alot of buffing. Alot of glass to wipe also. Here is another Excursion I did for a friend a few months back, same steps, it was a little harder to do. It was windy, constantly wiping a panel off with body shine to remove dust. I never liked buffing black vehicles at work. Black shows too much. But he paid me well to do his excursion :D The first picture is preping the rubber trims. The rest are the after shots. I still had some imperfections but he was pleased, and I was tired.

Just want to add... My excursion is a 2000 model but I update the front end of the excursion to the 05 model look.

I dread the day I have to detail an Excursion. Look at all that paint!!!

HA HA HA HA...... It is a little mesmerizing, Detailing the interior is something. Alot of roof and glass and panels to clean. I came across a few Excursion that is all out trashed in the inside. Kids toys, chicken nuggets, fries, milk, (bring back memories of mini-vans) and some of these people even haul there dogs... Whew, Dog hair city. Washing the exterior on these excursions (and the f250/350) is a chore too. What I hate the most are the front bumpers on these trucks. They tend to catch all kind of dirt anything that the wheels can throw at it.
